Mushashi

Well I first started watching anime back in 1987 when Laputa: Castle in the Sky was aired on British television. I haven't stopped since. What intrigues me is its ability to never conform to traditional story telling techniques. Sometimes there maybe no begining, middle or end, sometimes no explanation is needed as to why something is happening - anime never takes the audience for idiots. 

After almost 23 years of watching the art evolve, from Studio Ghibli masterpieces, through the era of Ninja Scroll and Fist of the North Star, past the early accomplishments of series such as Ruroni Kenshin, Trigun and Cowboy Bebop up until the present day shows such as GANTZ and Ergo Proxy that continue to push boundries I have never tired. Now it is time for me to encourage my 3-year-old daughter to get into the wonderful world of Japanese animation, but where to start, Doremon or GANTZ?
