Waste Your Halloween - aftermath

My first Waste Your Halloween-marathon is over! It was a blast, almost all of the titles I watched were good and finally I had no plans for the weekend so I could just relax.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, OmnipotentLemur hosted an animemarathon much like Waste Your Weekend, but in this case it was 4 days long and all the animetitles were of the horror-genre, in the spirit of Halloween. I think it was a success, and for those who missed this and would've wanted to join, there'll be more of Waste Your Weekend-marathons to come, don't worry!

But talking about Halloween and the marathon, it was almost a perfect weather and all here this weekend to celebrate the event, only missing the epic heavy rain and thunder. I managed to pick a nice selection of titles in my opinion:

• Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai
• Perfect Blue
• Boogiepop Phantom
• Le Portrait de Petit Cossette
• Ayakashi - Japanese Classic Horror

Annoyingly, even though the event lasted for 4 days and I thought I had enough time, I started watching too late again and didn't have time to watch everything. Well, what can you do, it was my own fault. I finished all but Higurashi (watched 17 episodes) and Ayakashi (didn't even start).

My personal favourite of those was Boogiepop Phantom, it was great! Although it's tagged as mindfuck, either I was too into it to notice or then I just really understand it :D Either way, I liked it because it was an episodic anime, it had many different stories but which of all were somehow tied together. The ending was a little blunt, I would've expected a more exciting closure... But more about that and perhaps the other titles on my upcoming reviews, I'll try to get some done during next week.

I'm off to writing recommendations, and more importantly to eat something. Foooooooooood!!! I'll be back.
