I love almost ALL anime. I wish I could participate in the sub-culture as well, I'm just not that social - WELCOME TO THE NHK...or rich. :"(

My name is Jeff and I LOVE ANIME!

I can't fill in my "Top 5" anime because I just can't decide what I like best. Too many series are on par with each other in my book because of the unique/fantastic story-lines or artwork. I have some down as equal in awesomeness from the characters and some because of the voice acting.

I absolutely refuse to watch english DUBBED versions of anything- unless I haven't got a choice. I LOVE to hear the Japanese vocies and the emotions that come through are so much more vibrant! Besides, dub tend to lose meaning in certain areas...when translation to English gets garbled...or voice actors suddenly believe that they know what the author of the manga meant to say and so they ad-lib the whole damn time. Rawr.

I rate my anime based on whether I liked the story, animation, characters, and so on. If I really don't like something I will give it a 0.5-1.5 stars, if I like the story but not the actual animation I might give it 2-2.5 stars, and if I like the story but the animation was just OK or the animation was great but the story was just OK I might give it a 3-3.5. Anyhting higher than that is based on all kinds of quality data that I can't even go into, it would take a whole page!

[October 2011 Update]

I just recently went to Anime Weekend Atlanta 2011 (AWA 2011) and I loved it! AWA was my first convention, ever. I decided to work the con rather than just attend. I figured that I would get more out of the experience if I joined the team- and I was "hella" right! Free loot from the con, pizza dinner at the end, freebies from the director of my section (video rooms), and since I helped out with some unpackaging and stuff TONS of free t-shirts! Awesomeness! Here are a couple pictures from my cosplay; taken with an awful camera. I need to invest in a better one before next year for sure.

[April 2013 Update]

I moved up to Ohio for school. I am attending Heidelberg university in Tiffin, Ohio. Boring place, but it was my best option. I haven't met anyone here that shares an interest in anime. Go figure. Everyone's got a girlfriend/boyfriend, is in a clique or part of a sport, or is into the whole "greek life" thing. In January and February, there was snow (the most snow I've ever seen in real life). Now, it's still slightly cold, there are flowers blooming, and the trees are sprouting leaves; but apparently, pollen isn't a big issue, here, like it is in Georgia. It's probably because there are barely any pine trees (which I like). Regardless, I'll be headed back to Georgia for a summer visit in May, then I'll return here in June to start summer classes. I can't wait to have a decent meal. Tiffin, Ohio has absolutely no sense of culture and their "cultural food" is practically all buffet crapola. I want some indian curry and naan, some coconut soup, and some thai curry! I want some korean BBQ and I want some delicious Udon! (/salvating Really. I just drooled on my shirt.)

Or just buy a BD player? Have you seen the designs for the PS4 and new Xbox? They look crazy. Pity that the games they have announced for it aren't anything special though. I don't think games will ever be as good as they were in the 90's.

Skype is similar to MSN Messenger too, it would just make messenging easier than leaving comments everywhere. You can add me- Everythings_Cool. Let me know if you are having trouble adding me and I'll add you instead.

No, I'm with you 100%, I know lots of people who have to go to uni/college and they don't have much money to spend on fun things like games and anime. I used to have a job and even after a month of it ending I was still receiving money, still have it saved up. You're the third person I know who is studying education- though they're all looking to study a certain subject, like English or music. Seems like a popular career choice.

I actually bought some BDs, even though I don't have a BD player or a PS3 to play them on. What was I thinking D: ?! Go create a Skype usename and I'll come chat to you on it sometime, if you like.

And I love Persona <3 I thought the P4 anime adaption was amazing, I'm really looking forward to the movie for Persona 3!

Oh, Melourn. Oh, dear.

I always buy DVDs if they come out here, simply because the UK anime industry is tiny compared to US and I want to be part of it, or else they'll not bother releasing anything new (anime and manga, I guess). DVDs aren't that expensive anyway (around £10-30 for a series) and once I've got a series on DVD, I can lend it out or watch it with people and display it on my shelf with all my other anime stuff. I guess I'm just a collector <3

Recently we had a store go into administration and it's the only store that sells DVDs in my city, so I actually felt obliged to spend as much in the store as I can to save people from being made redundant and also the company is almost 100 years old and I think they deserve to hit that milestone. There just aren't enough stores anymore, I hate how there aren't enough jobs and how everything is digital. I'll download a series if it doesn't get a UK release, sure. And if it does get a UK release, I'll stop watching/downloading it and buy the DVD (if I can find it).

Also, my laptop has limited space. I mean, I can download about 20GB a day, but...after a month or so, I can never catch up so I end up burning it all to disc.

I hope that wall of text hasn't annoyed you too much o.o It would be easier if we were chatting on Skype or something. And I really love FateZero, considering at first I hated the franchise and thought it was really overrated...

I chose the same option on the poll. Once I'd got past spoiler #154. I would've put that choice at the top instead.

I started watching FLCL when I was about 15, but didn't get far. I think it was because I was streaming it and my internet used to be really slow. But I'll make sure to marathon it when I get it! As for Paranoia Agent and Dead Leaves, I'll pick the DVD up for them. My sister had Paranoia Agent on DVD, the first few episodes, but she already told me how it ends...and that's a pretty big twist too. I love the opening song for it though and I love Satoshi Kon <3

Ooohhh Gantz. I really loved the first few episodes but when they started focusing on the girl (I can't remember her name at all) I sorta lost interest (think that was around episode 6 or 7). I hated how it created lots of characters and then they were killed off and never seen again. BUT I'll definitely watch the movies! I think it might be easier to buy them and I've wanted to watch them for a while.

I don't know if you visited Anime New Network, but they have an article called The List. Each week it has a new poll (at the bottom, below the list) and this weeks poll has the most spoilers I have ever seen anywhere at any time...Anyway, you need to see this: http://www.animenewsnetwork.co.uk/survey/284/

I'm speechless. That poll shouldn't exist xD

I don't like the FateZero spoilers inside it.

DUDE

BOKURANO 5/5! YES! Such an underrated show...But so good.

Thank you for that Another video, I almost forgot about those scenes. The guy getting struck by lightening and the girl falling down the hill/cliff. My favourite is the part with the digger, crashing into that boys building while he's playing on his computer. Yeah, I meant supernatural as in the class being cursed, but maybe that's not the definition of supernatural at all? Well, it's more horror anyway. Still awesome.
