The Literary Canon was a notion developed in the 19th Century of books that everyone should read. While I find the concept ridiculous in the feild of literature, because there are so many books, anime is a relatively young medium, and still has few enough works that there can be a "canon". Here is my list of anime that everyone should watch to consider themselves well versed in anime.
