Sword Art Online II

Jan 7, 2015

To start off with, I'm not overhyped with this anime. I did love the first arc (SAO) of season 1 but dislike the second arc due to the over-the-top romance between Kirito and Asuna. All in all I do think season 2 is better than season 1 in terms of enjoyment and depth as a whole. The GGO arc was really interesting with a slight change in pace. And the new character introduced was interesting enough to me and I actually quite like her as a character. I only give the storyline a 5 is because after the bang at the end of the GGO arc, the whole storyline dims and nothing particularly special pops up, though I... See full review

Future Diary

Sep 5, 2013

Well, as some other reviewers have said I prefer a proper story which is logical and anime series that wander inbetween were never to my liking. It's worth a watch however as I do not want to discourage anyone before they have even seen it. This is one of the show where side or even minor characters attract more attention and were more favourable than the two main protagonists. If it wasn't for the final two episodes I would have given this anime less points. The main characters were absolutely weak and annoying and had absolutely little improvement until the last moment of the last episode. One was a... See full review

Fate/stay night

May 21, 2013

To begin with, I have not read the visual novels so this review is solely based on the anime itself. Watched this after fate zero, just to follow the flow of the story instead of the time of production. I guess I'm more of a picky person. I formulate a good ending and I wish to see that ending in the end just so I can feel satisfied upon finishing the anime. Fate Stay Night offers that and contrasts Fate Zero, where all the bad things happen.  Story 8/10 - Cliched to some extent but there's actually a clearer and more decent plot compared to Fate Zero and these cliched plots never fail to impress... Fate/Zero

May 19, 2013

Spoilers sprinkled below :D I am no 'technical' reviewer and i don't do research about their graphics or director. I am writing my reviews based on my feelings after watching them and without being overly biased. First of all, it's certainly worth watching (for the first time that is) but Honestly I did not enjoy both series as much as I think I would. The fighting scenes were ok in a way but then they decided to skip the final climatic duel between archer and saber. The only good ones were probably between lancer/saber and between kirei/kiritsugu  The story involves too many ineffective twists... See full review

ef - a tale of melodies

Jan 25, 2013

Well well, what a special series we have here. It is nothing close to what I have expected and I watched this and ef: tale of memories right after Kanon. If you expect to find a main storyline to follow well good luck with that. Ef has various overlapping arcs that are loosely connected with each other. Instead of focusing on character developments the anime tries to bring out some ideas from those relationships. It is hard to keep track of the past and present with all those artistic cutscenes, which I found them extremely annoying at first. However, if you realize that the storyline is not what you... Angel Beats!

Nov 12, 2012

I watched this series based on its rating and the ranking. Well I guess things hardly goes the other direction for me if the majority says it's good. I haven't seen many animes yet but somehow it gives me the same feeling and chill I have from this other anime called 'sola'. Angel Beats can be considered as a short and beautiful masterpiece. It offers many warm and touching moments, some of which I kind of share. I cried quite alot in this series, mostly during the main character's flashback and the ending. Haven't cried like this for a while since Joseph Jobson's flashback in... See full review

Kämpfer

Nov 11, 2012

I'm doing this review based on my memory now. First of all. I solemnly swear I did not watch this just for bewbies. But other than bewbies and chick fights, there's really not much to this. The plot itself is confusing (if there's even a proper plot to begin with) and the characters to be honest were not well developed in depth. There were also some really weird episodes such as the Xmas episode which appears to be more like an OVA than an episode following the main story line. What confuses me the most is that the antagonist just suddenly disappears/stops attack in the last few episodes. Instead of... See full review

Kaze no Stigma

Nov 11, 2012

Woo, another treasure I've found! This is an anime series that basically has all the core components to a good anime. Great exciting fighting scenes, some touchy moments and a tint of comedy. It's overall a lighthearted and enjoyable anime with a good ending that wraps the whole story up pretty well.  The story starts up with a 'bang' firefight scene in your face that immediately grabs your attention, and this spark of excitement is sustained with the help of tease/comedy throughout the episodes until it finally reaches the climax in the final series. The main male and female characters are well... See full review

Mahoromatic 2

Nov 8, 2012

I'm kind of commentless on this whole series. Hmm lets see..it's great and bad at the same time. Have you ever feel that some anime plots need to 'do something' to make you feel great and satisfying after finishing them? Well this series did do 'that something' but in a ridiculous way. It has a great plot in mind but the plot wasn't performed and carried out well. The whole great 'plot in mind' was carried out unsuccessfully due to many reasons. Even through season 1, every great moment and great music was very brief and cut off abruptly. The whole two series did not go deep enough to describe how... See full review

sola

Oct 11, 2012

This is my first time doing an anime review so bear with me. I think of myself as more of an abstract reviewer so I base my scores according to my feelings and attachments to this anime as an audience. After watching a few series of Ecchi/Comedy related animes, I have decided to watch something a little different. So I decided that I would give Sola a try based on the reviews I have read and the site rankings. I guess like some others, I'm blessed to not take any movies or animes lightly. When i do watch an anime, I feel like I was in there, either being one of the characters participating or a sideline... See full review
