Story: The series is split into four parts. The first two center around a guest staying at Gregory house, the third takes place on a train (a prequel) and the last part takes place in a hospital (or a renovated hotel.) The first two parts are easily my favourite. The show puts you in the shoes of the guest so you basically see everything through their eyes. I really like this format as it made me feel more involved with what was going on. The setting of the hotel itself was also great. Very dark and spooky like something out of a classic horror film. The last train and the bloody karte case definitely... See full review
It's like The Sopranos and Pokemon combined... Except without the Sopranos part... Plot: This anime is basically a crappy shounen comedy mixed with a solid shounen action series. The first bit of the series as well as a few episodes inbetween arcs is focused on comedy... and it's bad... Most of the jokes are lame running gags which become more and more painful everytime they're used, and they're used a lot. The main arcs however are at least somewhat interesting, even though the last one drags on forever (seriously, it takes up over half the series.) The second season is by far the best though... No Pirates, fairies or Peter Pan... This Neverland sucks... Story: I think there was a plot here, but I sure as Hell don't know what was going on. Seemed like a lot of shit randomly happened with no explanation. To be fair though I was completely bored out of my mind after about five minutes so I probably just wasn't paying attention. All I can recall is that there's a war between demons and humans... or something... And it was pretty dull. Animation: This series combines crappy 2D animation with horrendous CGI to create something truly eye rapingly awful. This was even worse than... See full review
I love the Animal Crossing video games. I'd even go so far as to say they're my favourite game franchise ever. So I was willing to check out the anime movie adaption of it. I was also confused on how something like Animal Crossing could possibly be turned into a movie... Story: The main premise of the games is that you're a new resident to a small town. You earn money, decorate your house, talk to people, go fishing and stuff like that... So how the Hell do you turn that into a story? Well, you don't really... The first bit of the movie definitely feels like an Animal Crossing Game. It's basically just... See full review
My first review of the year, and it's gonna be a positive one. And what better series to review than something dark, twisted and gorey like Requiem From The Darkness? It's fun for the whole family. Story: The plot involves an auther named Momosuke who wishes to write a book on 100 ghost stories. He encounters the spirit... demon... detectives (or whatever the Hell they are) called the Ongyou. They basically investigate legends and punish the criminals who are behind them or something. Crazy shenanigans ensue! Animation: Probably my favourite part of the series and definitely the most... Why yes I am doing another half-assed review of a crappy Yoji Kuri film. Why? Because I obviously hate myself. Story: A plot? Nonsense. This is just more random shit happening that makes absolutely no sense. Exactly what I've come to expect. Animation: Well it's no worse than most of his other films... so that's kind of a positive point... well not really. Sound: Oh, you're gonna want to turn up your volume for this one. It basically starts off with this incredibly obnoxious screaming (Or what I imagine Toad being choked would sound like) that goes on for an entire minute and then it switches... See full review
Nope, no cardgames on motorcycles here. Disappointing, I know... Story: Two kids are sent to some strange world for no particular reason and they have to play a silly cardgame... yeah, that's pretty much it. This would be okay except that the cardgame itself makes no goddamn sense so all the action was a huge letdown. I guess it could be trying to parody card game anime but if that's the case then it's not doing a very good job at it... Animation: Animation is pretty standard. Not bad but nothing special either. Sound: The music was forgettable and the cartoonish sound effects didn't really... See full review
Oh, a short anime film that isn't by Yoji Kuri? That's automatically a step up.
Story: While the story is very simple, it's still quite engaging for a silent short film. I actually found myself getting creeped out a bit by what was happening.
Animation: If you're looking for typical anime then you won't find it with these short films. I'm actually quite impressed by the quality here, this sort of stuff is not easy to do and there is clearly a lot of effort put into it. I also love how innocent it looks at first, it kinda throws you off guard.
Sound: The music can be a bit... See full review
It was my morbid curiousity that led me to watch this thing after seeing that travesty known as 'Human Zoo'. I feel ripped off for spending five valuable minutes when I could have been doing something better... like staring at the wall. I apologize in advance for the horrible references... This review didn't deserve much thought anyway. Story: Haha what a story mark... no, no there was no story. I'm sure Kuri intended for there to be some deep and profound meaning behind all the chaos and ugliness, but I sure as hell couldn't see it... Animation: No, it's not true, it's bullshit... I'm gonna be... See full review
Hello random person who had the misfortune of stumbling upon this review. Are you tired of typical anime making sense, having a coherent storyline, good animation and compelling characters that won't give you nightmares? Well look no further than Popee The Performer, a series that is so amazing it will literally make your brains leak from your eyes as you reach enlightenment... Or something... Story: Random shit happens! Animation: Not gonna lie, it isn't very good... at all. Luckily the animation here fits perfectly with the characters and their surroundings giving you the ultimate eye raping... See full review
The only thing worse than this anime is this review of mine... Story: There's a war going on (I think), the main character gets raped a couple times and the rapist guy is suspected of being a spy or something... Then they fall in love and live happily ever after... At least that's how I remembered it. I also recall the main characters virginity being a big deal for some reason, but that was completely stupid and irrelevant. Animation: Gonna have to update this part a bit... I had originally said that the animation wasn't that bad, but I was wrong, because it's pretty fucking bad. It's complete... See full review
