Mangina

About me; I'm and otaku (light) from Sweden. I like everything from anime, Jrock/Jpop to japanese culture and many many other things related to Japan. I'm studying Chemical Engineering with Physics at the university of Chalmers and hence I don't have much money left over for my hobbies which made me stop buying and reading manga (at least for now). Many people have asked me and my master's degree is called Innovative and Sustainable Chemical Engineering.

Okay, here's the deal... I came up with this nick 5-6 years ago when I signed onto another anime-forum. I took the part Mang from manga and added ina... the ina-part was from anime backwards.

Today I changed my skype-name to Mangina... it didn't take long until a friend of mine suddenly asked why I was called Mangina. I explained why and got a reply back "Do you know what a mangina is?" ... So, basically... after 5-6 years I got to know that the word actually exist and that it has a meaning (never heard of it before). People usually call me Manny around here~

I used to be good at drawing when I was young however, I stopped drawing when I was twelve and I've only drawn a total of five pictures since then and don't think I'm particularly good at it anymore.

Music is something i love! I used to mostly listen to rock and metal but that changed somewhat after I discovered Jpop and my taste in music is really broad nowadays though the rock and metal will always have a special place for me. Ohh and the music composed by Nobuo Uematsu is more than amazing! He's a genious when it comes to composing music and he's made the sound tracks for most of the Final Fantasy games out there.

My favorite Jpop artist is was KOTOKO (while she still was working for I've sound) and she's sung lots of OP's and ED's for various anime and eroges. Her style of music is a bit mixed so in case you didn't like a song or two, chances are that you might still like the third. KOTOKO's not my favorite anymore but I don't know who I'd put as #1.

As for gaming: I'm not into eroge's... in fact, I've never tried any so who am I to judge? I just never had the interest in em. My favorite game of all times is Final Fantasy VII and with the remake coming up, I've got my hopes held high but at the same time, I know that unless they keep the original sound files and the materia and battle systems intact, I'm likely to be disappointed. Other games I've enjoyed playing are Starcraft as well as Diablo, where I ranked as the #2 best Demon Hunter on the Hardcore Europe servers somewhere in April/May 2015. I also used to enjoy playing World of Warcraft a lot and I was in one of the best guilds in Europe back during the Ulduar raids but I've left WoW and the entirety of MMORPG's because I don't want to get stuck in any of those ever again (I spent 450 DAYS in actual time playing WoW). Other games I like are Heroes of Might and Magic (though the matches can get tediously long), Skyrim, Dragon Age and many others.

I like playing board games as well and play some paper-dice based RPG's with a few friends from my university as well as other boardgames with others during meetups. I've also been playing Magic the Gathering (TCG) since 1995.

When it comes to anime, I choose what to watch depending on my mood and how much duties I've got in real life. More duties mean less anime. I watch anime because I enjoy it; I don't enjoy watching a show while analyzing and criticizing the living shit out of it. It doesn't matter how much people consider a show as shit, if I enjoy it, I will watch it and I'm somewhat of a completionist though Bleach is an exception.

I used to have a quite long explanation regarding my ratings and hated/loved characters but I have no way of recovering it, so I might rewrite it later.

Currently in the process of updating which clubs I'm in but I'm somewhat lazy about it. Will update it here and in my forum signature later.
