Yeah, the magic system looks different, though I imagine anything that changed will be easy to adapt to as we have been trained in Aselia's system already. Pretty much every change so far looks awesome. There is something that's confused me though. I've heard people saying that Euphoria is a Law Eternal which goes against all logic and reasoning that we've experienced. I can't see how Euphoria would defect from Yuuto and Aselia to join Temorin and Takios and people like them. We'll hopefully get the full story behind it once the game has been localized. Sadly I haven't heard any further news about it.
I rewatched Psycho-Pass recently, to freshen up my understanding of it a little more. I feel great that I was able to know about more of the references to philosophers the show makes. I've thought this before but the people like Makishima who are classified as criminally asymptomatic and who run the Sibyl System are more than likely sociopaths. I forget if I said it before but I'll say it here. As the dominator is able to tell how likely the victim will commit what he thinks of as a crime. Most people when they commit a crime or tell a lie, they know deep down that what they're doing is wrong, and feel some type of guilt over it, which may be the thing that the Psycho-Pass detects. Though a sociopath is able to say a truth and lie without feeling any kind of distinction between the two. And by extention doesn't feel guilt for commiting crimes. I've tried understanding what it is the psycho pass is able to correctly analyze about a person's psychological state, though 1 out of 2,000,000 people can't have this determined. And I can't imagine it being anything other than that 1 person being a sociopath. That sounds close to the real life statistic to how many people are sociopaths.
True about RTS some Turn Based Strategies are complex enough that I automate the less relevant units to do boring mundane tasks while I focus on the major pieces like the bishop, queen, and rook. Trying to tell every worker, combat unit what to do at the same time is very complex. I remember when I was younger that RTS games were the hardest types of games to play, seeing that there's no time to think though a long term plan, and doing what works best in the short term.
Guides certainly make games easier, they are able to tell you instantly how to solve a complex puzzle of some type when you're completely stuck. Though a guide itself can't give you the skills required to beat a certain part of a game. I am guilty of using guides when there is a very complicated part of a game that I've spent hours trying to figure out and just can't get it. For most of the game a guide isn't nessacary, though there are parts where its very tough to figure out. Though even when you know what to do, it doesn't mean you'll be able to do it in certain types of games. In Bullet Hell games in particular, you can see many videos of people doing no-death runs, but it won't mean the skill can be easily replicated.
It is good to play games like Aselia where there isn't really a guide to find in the first place. It comes with a guide to help you on choosing the routes you want and where to find the dragons and stuff, but it doesn't tell you how to beat the bosses or dragons, all of that must be figured out by the player. With most games these days there's normally a video walkthrough on youtube or a guide for it. Including you I know only 2 people who have even heard of Aselia. It may be because not many people know what visual novels are about. Though hopefully with games like Steins;Gate, a few vns that are out on steam, they'll get a little more popular. Speaking of which, it looks like Higurashi is coming onto steam, so more people will be able to read the vn that inspired the anime.

An anime/manga that does well with the "thou shall not kill" code is Rurouni Kenshin however. It was the pre-meiji era (I forget the exact name of the era), but anyhow. Kenshin killed many people as Hitokiri Battousai and it appears to be because of this that he took the vow to not kill as he didn't feel like he had the right to kill all those people. And he's extremely strong so he can defeat opponents easily with his sakabato while not killing them, but he has to be careful as the bloodlust in him can still emerge if he faces an opponent close to him in strength.

With the alternate ending ovas, I just thought about Clannad's ovas, from my understanding, they took the routes for Kyou and Tomoyo and shortened them to work in ova format. The way Clannad does it seems to work for some reason now that I think about it. Though the way that you're talking about doesn't work. In the end anime is a linear journey due to the way episodes work. Visual Novels incorporate the choices which allow the multiple endings to be integrated easily. It would be cool to see an anime which gave you a choice or two like a visual novel and that would influence the rest of the journey and ending. Allowing for more reasons to rewatch a show. I wonder if it would be considered a visual novel in that case, though it would have more emphasis on the visual part in the case of anime form.

In the case of a visual novel its more important to have the story be understood as the story is the primary strength of the vn with gameplay (if its in there like with Aselia/Utawarerumono) being secondary. though in the case of these companys like Mangagamer and JAST, I think I understand. It sounds like they don't have a lot of staff which makes it harder to proofread throughout 60 hours of text not even including the different routes the game can take, and choices a player makes. And its easy to make errors in programming which explains how games overall go through a massive phase of bug testing. Taking this into account and also how they're the only companies I know that can officially localize vns, I am fine with this. As long as I can understand the story and get the same joy that the people who've also playe the vn in Japan have already experienced with the visual novel.

Somehow it always shocks me how badly people misspell things and inconsistant grammar. Its one thing if english is a second language to them where it is understandable that a few words would be misspelled and not have perfect grammar, but even then its easier to understand than some of these other people's. Though in cases where english is a first language there isn't really much of an excuse. Sure there will still be an occasional misspelling on a tricky word, I misspell words occasionally, though comments shouldn't look something like this "lol why there red colrz they're plz" (This is a made up comment to illusrate my frustration with comments like these) Very hard to understand. Especially in a medical game that is important, as the vast amount of medical terms for all the 100 billion diseases, and problems with the body can happen, aren't known to most people. It allows the authors/developers to use complex words to allow greater immersion to the medical/science words while still giving "normal people" like us the ability to understand them.
It is indeed shocking how much space modern games use. I can't seem to recall if I've installed games using more than 1-3 GB In the case of a visual novel being larger than that, it is understandable to think that it would be a great 60+ hour masterpiece. I seem to remember Aselia/Yumina the Ethereal being 1-2 GB for the whole game to install and they're both 60+ epics. Imaginning a novel bigger than that, I would think that the story can still be finished in 60+ hours, but would have many more routes from anywhere to 10-20. A friend of mine mentioned that there was a game with visual novel elements with 38 endings, forget the name. But yeah, considering how most of what I've gotten from games is indie, the games have been short and inexpensive. and not more than a few hundred megabytes. The next big game purchase I plan to get is Seinarukana which I expect to cost around $40-$50, not much else interests me except for a potential new remake of a dungeon crawler series made by Atlus that I enjoy called Etrian Odyssey.

The next big game purchase I plan to get is Seinarukana which I expect to cost around $40-$50, not much else interests me except for a potential new remake of a dungeon crawler series made by Atlus that I enjoy called Etrian Odyssey.
This will be half of my reply, I'm also sorry for being later with this than before, my sleep and eating patterns have been messed up adapting to the new summer hours at work. I will finish this hopefully sometime in the next few days. Luckily there seems to be a little more news from JAST that Hanachirasu is on its way. This will make it quicker for Seinarukana to come out. Speaking of the game I found a piece of its soundtrack used in one of the final bosses which is a rearrangement of the Aselia the Eternal opening. I guess it's probably where I'm from, because here cold weather is like below 20 degrees which probably to everyone else in the world isn't really that cold :P But the hottest it gets is like 45 (sometimes higher, and no air conditioning in our school... though I sorta hate air conditioning anyway but still!) soemtimes over 45 but not that much, Winter always goes too quickly T^T I hate autumn and spring because they don't know what they are, one day they're super cold the next they're super hot -___- make up your mind!! (I'm very offended by stupid things... as you can see xD )
