Bio time, Horray!

I'm a 22 year old male from Ottawa, Canada. I'm a total geek and introvert, mostly staying to myself and my close friends. I'm also gay, which you know, is always fun. I'm studying computer science at Carleton University in Ottawa right now, on my 3rd year.

Obviously, I love anime, and even have a review show going at http://www.youtube.com/user/AniviewReviews . My favorite genres are Pyschological, Philosphical, Sci-fi, and Mindf*ck anime, although I dabble in just about anything with strong plot and/or characters. Quality means a lot more to me then most anything else.

As for my other hobbies, I enjoy playing Magic: the gathering in my spare time (feel free to talk to me about it whenever, I'm always up for a chat). As well as board games in general, well, good ones at least ^^. I also play video games, but I tend to think they all suck in general, maybe if a company wouldn't make Halo XX6.2 we'd actually get some interesting games.

My last little hobby is books, as I like to read non-fiction usually on the topics of Pyschology, Philosophy, and general human nature. I read fiction too, mostly Sci-fi and satire.

Hope that's tells you a little bit about me.

Hey, we indeed have similar tastes, as does Silver and I unsurprisingly agree with a good strory/character progression being vital to good anime ^_^ Although I'm also (as you might've guessed) a sucker for drama anime.

Anyways, thanks for the comment, I'll make sure to keep watching your opinions too on your show :P GL with the midterms for now, they're approaching here as well, and they suck X_X

Fantastic, it sounds good - judging on synopsis alone is sometimes difficult, so having your opinion on Bartender is really helpful. Thanks for that, I'll definitely slap it in the queue, although I have so much work at university it's bordering on pure insanity. I'm stalled on Trigun right now! Bartender does sound excellent though, in many ways very different to what else is out there, I'd guess.

Interesting to know you like the extreme anime within a genre - have you seen Lain yet? Might be worth a shot if not, it's pretty surreal. I have Shadow Star Narutaru on my external HD as part of the starting anime that a friend gave me, but I've not watched it yet. Hope it turns out to be a good one for you, and hopefully not just for the 'whoamg episode 12' factor that I've heard about. :P

I agree entirely, it's highly rewatchable - even just the odd episode here and there, out of order (although I prefer watching in correct for the sake of posterity!). I'm really glad you liked it so much! It's interesting that in both cases, we have the same two anime separated by the absolute finest of margins - and each time, the one that got watched first by each of us is at the top. I have to admit though, Death Note is an astonishing series and if I didn't love slice of life so much, it'd be top in a heartbeat.

I was going to ask you, also - is Bartender along similar lines? I saw a few of your posts (and Omurqi's - we all seem to have similar taste) about it, and it sounds really good! Would you recommend it? Thanks again. :)

Ace! I'm glad that you started watching it, and that you think it's a great series. It just edges out Death Note in my list, but the two are a decent way ahead of anything else I've seen to date. Good to see another fan, anyway :)

Sorry it took so long to reply, too - and nice new avatar!

I am not a huge KyoAni fan so I didn't love K-On, I thought that it was enjoyable enough but exceedingly overrated. The new Haruhi killed me with Endless Eight and I was never a huge fan of the franchise to start with. But yes, this year was not particularly amazing overall.

I'm hesitating with some shows from the Fall season, such as 11 Eyes, Kobato, Railgun and Batorra. I always try to finish what I start so I'm slighly afraid of even starting...

Btw, you have "Simoun" in your fave list, I really liked it. The premise sounds a bit strange but I pleasantly surprised by how it was handled. I wish some of the minor characters had received more attention, though.
