Spice and Wolf 2: Same as the first season with different intrigue, more romance and extra economic politics. Shines because of outstanding character interactions. A Must Watch.
Valkyria Chronicles: Fun mythology and superb characters in a late revolutionary war/industrial setting. Needs more episodes and late development for it's in-depth storyline (it was a video game first) An Enjoyable Watch.
To-LoveRu: Sudden alien girlfriend appearance creates love triangle in an at home and at school setting. The silly/funny in this show is off the charts (so is the fanservice) *shakes head* Not that great but is awesome for watching while watching....
Monster: Engaging and believable detective thriller set in the modern era, generally in Europe. Horribly depressing with edge of the seat thrills. Requires an attentive mind. IF YOU WATCH NOTHING ELSE THIS YEAR WATCH THIS. It is still recommended to be spelled every few episodes with a funny/silly anime.
.hack//SIGN: Excellent sound track that overshadows everything. Can sometimes get in the way of character interactions and often disrupts the mood of the story by being too loud. A game world mystery with a coma causing MMORPG. If not for the loudness of the music it would be an above average anime and an enjoyable watch.
Sacred Blacksmith: A smooth looking magic, alchemy, swords, fantasy with a hot/hard headed female lead and a somewhat stoic badass male lead. Probably won’t be that wonderful but I am a sucker for this stuff minus the alchemy/magic so I will be watching it.
Nyan Koi: A cat hating (he is allergic to them) high school boy is cursed and must vanquish the curse or turn into a cat permanently and risk suffocating because of his allergies. He can hear cats and can talk to them. He must complete 100 favors for cats or brave the inevitable completion of the curse. This seems to be a comedy with a little romance involved. So far this has been an enjoyable watch and I am looking forward to more.
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: High school princess is a closet otaku. A somewhat bland boy from her class finds out her secret and must help her to keep it. This is definitely a romantic comedy and I love watching this series. The main characters are both very kind and considerate soft-hearted people who show their immaturity at times. There is a currently airing second season Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu Purezza, that I also recommend watching.
Tears to Tiara: A medieval fantasy setting with all the cool swords, bows, magic, dragons, and demons a boy could want. Plus a ridiculously large amount of characters, especially scantily clad female characters. Ignoring that fact this is a pretty good story with a different sort of "OMG you idiot, you woke the demon!" theme. It is full of laughs and has one lead male character that is about as dense as Parn and one that reminds me a bit of Dante. This is a fun watch that never stays too serious for too long.
Tears to Tiara dude (left) and Dante from Devil May Cry. (right)
I have watched or have been watching these anime series in the last two months. There are a few others but I could not think of them as I wrote this. Currently, I am making my way through Monster and the various .hack// series and OVAs.
