And yeah, music lyrics often blow and metal ones even more so. Among the few bands with lyrics I like especially Pig Destroyer sticks out and Mastodon has some good lyrics (not to mention awesome music!) though not nearly as smart as people seem to like to think they are. :p
I luv replies.
The thing I liked about SAC was the complex episodes which often are slow paced mystery, all those episodes are about the same case after all. There's even a coule of episodes where they never get out their guns. The show picks up after a while, the initial ones are probably the worst in the entire show. Also season 2 is a lot better, politics and mystery plays a much bigger part.
Cataclysm is dead now, it's WotlK only its boring to heal.
I haven't watched much anime at all lately, I just check in here to see if anyone has replied to any of my reviews. Maybe I'll watch more anime just to write more reviews and get more replies... I've watched Fringe, Sons of Anarchy, House, Dexter and The Walking Dead instead. All good stuff though not equally so by any sense of the word.
Heh, I am terribly slow when it comes to exploring new things too. I want to listen to an album at least 15-20 times and often two or three times that before I can move on.
And well, I peeked at your profile which was where I got Dexter/WoW and so on from. And yeah, season 3 was boring. Season 5 was better but not as good as 4. And I actually liked Rita for a long time, she just turned into a massive whiner in season 4. (Btw, if you haven't seen Game of Thrones you should probably give it a chance. It's no wonder of script and characters but it's still the best fantasy show.)
If you get around to watching Stand Alone Complex make sure to see season 2 if you like 1 at all, it's a big improvement. Less pseudointellectuality and quoting.
Deathspell Omega isn't exactly normal black metal. Especially their latest album Paracletus is more Opeth/Dillinger Escape Plan than Emperor. The artwork is sickening in a great way and since the band consists of a bunch of highly educated (actual) satanists the texts are on a higher level than what you usually get in metal. Only black metal band I've ever become a fan of.
About WoW I partly gave up because of how horrible the majority of players are. To play dungeons you need to heal or tank yourself and then have a friend who can do the other thing for you. I raided with a great guild in Wrath but it split apart and then I switched to horde, couldn't get the willpower to get to know new poeple AGAIN.
"although I wonder why it must be marked at all in the first place."
For the short and sweet answer, how can you review something you haven't seen?
Yes well, Evangelion had great characterisation and depth when you were 15 but it still holds up somewhat in my eyes. Like Ergo Proxy it balances between amazing and immensely boring, I think you know what I mean when I say there was a streak of 10 episodes or so where the plot didn't more forward AT ALL. Almost stopped watching there. Anyway, I saw you hadn't seen Bokurano. It's basicly a modern and more depressing take on Evangelion. There are robots but they serve as narrative tools and not an excuse to have cool battles once in a while. Then again you might as well read the manga since the show is ugly and the acting not that impressive. The story is still a strong recommendation. The best unsympathetic characters are usually found in HBO/Showtime etc shows I believe. Dexter of season 2 (The scene where he says "I don't need to kill anymore but I'm gonna do it anyway." will serve as my example), the entire cast of House, McNulty of the Wire and so on. Perhaps these people are sympathetic assholes instead of unsympathetic emos.
Also, I happened to see you like folk and black metal. I don't suppose you're a fan of Opeth and/or Deathspell Omega for example?
And finally, was stuck in WoW since 1.3 but have managed to break my addiction due to Cata having awful endgame.
P.S - Horror movies? Seen Inside? D.S
