Endless Eden

Nov 28, 2016

Story The story is about a girl who has a demon queen inside of her body and is being chased by both people and monsters.  Only her virginity is keeping the demon queen from gaining complete control over her.  Overall, the plot is just okay.  It's not particularly great, but it's not completely terrible either.  In fact, in my opinion, this manga does have some potential.  Unfortunately, said potential is wasted by the ending (or rather a lack of an ending).  Really, it doesn't actually end, it just stops.  To be fair, this manga was probaby cancelled so... not simple

Story The story of this manga is an excellent, well written tale.  While the prologue pretty much shows you how it's going to end, the journey to get there (aka the rest of the manga) is so well wrtten and put together that it makes it all the more impactful.  I also love how all the details come together.   Art  The artsyle is very.... unique.  Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing varies from reader to reader.   Some may like the artsyle because it is different from your typical manga and adds to the atmosphere/tone, while... Rappa

Oct 15, 2016

Story The story starts out somewhat similar to Trigun (as in it involves an ultra powerful dude with a large bounty on on his head).  However, what starts off as a fun bounty hunter romp sudenly turns into a "Man vs. Machine" story.  Also, while the setting initially seems to be the Old West, it quickly becomes apparent that there are alot of elements that don't fit in with this setting (such as dinosaurs, unicorns, and robots, to name a few).  Of course, since this manga involves people with crazy super powers, I didn't expect it to be realistic anyways; but, the... Banana no Nana

Aug 29, 2016

Story The story is about two girls named Nana and Ringo who go on an adventure to search for the land of Oz.  Nana has the bizzare ability to manipulate bananas while Ringo has strong legs.  As their journey progresses they meet various characters and fight several battles.  Basically, this is your typical shounen adventure story, but with some interesting twists (such as Nana's banana power, the hero group being all female, and the shoujo-ai).  Unfortunately, while the story starts off pretty good (and has some great moments), it goes downhill during the... XXX Allergy

Aug 19, 2016

Story This one-shot yaoi manga is about a young man who does voluntieer work at a specialty shop (that sells and breeds rabbits) who like rabbits and has a crush on a guy who works there.  Unfortunately, our protagonist has a secret (hint: it's part of the title).  While the story isn't particularily ground breaking, it is cute, funny, and solid. Art The artwork is actually quite nice.  Also, the guys are hot and the rabbits are cute. Characters While the characters aren't really given enough time to fully develop (what with this being a... Koguresou Monogatari

Jul 31, 2016

Story Koguresou Monogatari is basically made up of several related stories, each one following a different character.  The reason why this isn't considered a collection is because the stories are related and even somewhat interconnected (with most of the characters appearing in each others' stories).  Each of the stories give us a peek into the characters' lives, with some of them having romantic themes while others are more slice-of-life.  I also like how the end of one story leads up to the next one.  If I had one criticism, it was that most of the stories (and the manga... Inu wo Kau

May 13, 2016

Story The first four chapters of this manga are domestic slice of life stories that are connected to each other.  The first chapter deals with a couple losing their beloved dog (and if you ever owned a dog or any other kind of pet for that matter, you will cry).  The second chapter takes place a year later when the same couple takes in a skittish cat.  They continue to bond with the cat (as well as several other things I won't mention) in chapter 3, and in chapter 4, the couple's niece in thrown into the mix.  The four chapters are nicely written and will appeal to animal... Houkago x Ponytail

May 1, 2016

Story This manga is the story of a girl who falls in love with a mangaka.  While the plot is nothing particularly groudbreaking, I did find it to be cute, funny, and enjoyable.  Though there are several shoujo cliches, this manga does them well and even seems to be self aware of it. Art The art isn't great, but it isn't terrible either.  It does it's job, but not much more.  The character designs are fine, but the lack of backgrounds and the occasional use of stick figures (though to be fair, those were comedy relief scenes) hurts it. Characters I... See full review

La Pomme Prisonniere

Apr 28, 2016

Story This manga is basically about the daily life of a crazy, frequently naked woman and her cat.  To be honest, nothing much happens.  The woman's antics are a bit amusing and this manga does get some points for uniqueness, but there is very little text and not much of a plot. Art The art is for the most part very detailed and quite nice looking.  However, it loses a few points due to the fact that the female characters look a bit too much alike. Characters Due to the fact that there is hardly any dialogue and barely any plot, there is... See full review

Regatta: Kimi to Ita Eien

Apr 24, 2016

Story Regatta is the story of a young man whose goal is to compete in compettitive rowing in the Olympics.  This goal was put on hold after the tragic death of his teamate, but he eventually regains the drive to reach for their dream.  There is also a nice well written romantic side-plot.  The story over-all is well written and mostly well paced.  My only criticism with the story is that the ending felt a little abrupt to me.  Basically, I feel like the events of the last chapter should've been spread out over two or three chapters instead of being crammed into...
