BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad

Apr 13, 2017

Beck is undoubtedly a great show for musicians (and especially aspiring musicians!) to watch.  It gains a ridiculously high score from me mostly because I have a soft spot for music anime, but Beck ranks at the top of my list.  There are already great reviews for this show from a general anime perspective so I'll be focusing mostly from a music perspective.

Story / Characters The story is engaging-all points of this show pool together to ultimately showcase the journey of individuals forming a band, with all the dramatic and comedic nuance you could possibly want.  The show... See full review

Take My Brother Away

Jul 4, 2017

Honestly for the mini-series type of show, Ani Ni was very entertaining and fun to breeze through.  Obviously there isn't going to be much for the storyline or characters, but the show had its own charms.

First off the opening theme is ridiculously catchy and cheerful, probably is what hooked me at first.  The show is comprised of short skits about a little sister who is ill-tempered, violent, and insanely strong (and adept at martial arts) and her older brother who through his laziness and irresponsibility provokes his sister's wrath upon himself.  These skits include funny antics... School Days

Jul 25, 2012

I've never written a review on any anime up to this point nor do I have the organizational skills to somehow skillfully weave a synopsis and a review...I'll try though? I've been putting School Days on hold for about a good year - seeing as it had controversial reviews/ratings, I put it on the backburner to watch it eventually.  Funny enough, it only took two days to breeze through it. It starts off in a very typical manner - your cliche school life anime where your bumbling, slightly perverted male protagonist falls in love with the shy and beautiful long-haired girl who happens to take the... The Rising of the Shield Hero 3rd Season

Dec 26, 2023

The short and simple is that the Shield Hero series was a compelling story of revenge and character growth.  Unfortunately as the seasons progressed the story continuously stagnated and season 3 was extremely dry as it conveniently gathered all of the heroes to finally become "allies" of Naofumi despite all of them being completely incompetent and still a bunch of pricks who all have 1 dimensional personalities.  Needless to say, I can safely say that this is the season of disappointing sequels...Goblin Slayer alongside Shield Hero gave me so much hope for a great time but alas.  At... Seven Mortal Sins

May 20, 2017

I've only watched two episodes and I know already that there's no need to finish the series.  This show is the blurred line between actual ecchi anime and just flat out hentai.  Whereas you can get some kind of value out of some ecchi shows (Love Hina for some comedy and romance, Food Wars for an actual interesting portrayl of cooking/characters, and so forth), this one is just like High School DXD where naked body shots fill up the screen time moreso than actual dialogue-and even High School DXD at least makes an attempt to be something more than just ecchi.

Sin could have been somewhat... See full review
