Welcome to my profile!
I'm Kitah! I've recently joined this website. I found this website through the trusty Google from which I was searching for an anime and manga list website so I can manage my time for anime, manga and things I also need to catch up on.
What kind of anime I watch and manga I read:
I don't really have a favorite genre or anything. But I'm not that fond of ecchi or harems. While I do like the horror genre, it is one of my least favourite because most of the time you can tell what is going to happen next - it's mostly predictable, definitely if it's the only genre the anime/manga has.
I really enjoy anime and manga which has quite a bit of action, but this is only the case if the characters have a decent backstory - or a backstory is built upon throughout the series.
I normally drop a series if it either doesn't pick up in pace, or if I'm watching too much at one point and may come back to it later - but if it is one I have pushed to the side, I will only go back to it if it ends up having a good rating at the end of it, or if the story is concluded (if it won't have a second season). I will also drop an anime if all of the characters are annoying (and they don't seem signs of growth - but this will be decided on around 3 episodes in a 12 episode series, or 6 episodes in a 24/25 episode series).
My favorite anime:
Well, this is a hard enough question in itself. I don't really have just one favourite when it come to anime as you can't really compare them all to each other. So I'd have to do it on length (I've narrowed it down to 2 per catagory):
12 episodes: No.6 and Kyokai no Kanata. Completely different series, but the animation in both are perfect. The stories in both are rather confusing (Kyokai a little more so) but that's what makes the stories in both even better. Both great fun to watch, with their own sad moments.
24/25 episodes: Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic (and it's second season, Magi: The Kingdom of Magic)and Psycho-pass. It was a given that I'd like the Magi anime (actually, the first 2 episodes of the first season is what got me into Magi. Though, it is a shame that they aren't following the story completely). Psycho-pass can't really compare to Magi as it is completely different, however from beginning to end the story was perfect and it took itself to a fantastic ending.
Long finished series: D.Gray-man and FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. While D.Gray-man did have issues of a "filler-feeling" at the beginning, and a unfinished ending, it is still one of the best animes I have watched. There also isn't any reason for me to say aything about FMA: Brotherhood, it is simply a masterpiece.
On-going: Hunter X Hunter 2011 and Naruto / Naruto Shippuden as they are fantastic shounen series but rather different from each other. One is more about the "power of friendship" while the other is a lot darker with more intense logic but both are equally as good in their own right.
A worthy mention: Bakuman - Bakuman is a perfect series about mangaka and it seriously worth the watch and is one of the best anime I have seen with both its pacing and storyline.
My favorite manga:
I don't have much time to read manga as much as I want to, and I normally test out manga on the net and after around 3 to 5 chapters decide if it is worth to pick up in physical form. However, my favourite manga will probably have to be Magi! The story is superb and nearly all of the characters are likable and the story moves at a perfect pace.
D.Gray-man and Naruto are 2 other mangas that I read as soon as they update. They are both great fun to read. (Though, it is a shame that D.Gray-man updates so slowly)
My other interests:
I have quite a few interests other than just anime and manga - though, my biggest is collecting. I love to collect things and I am a completionist. I love to collect anime and manga - though, I am just starting up with this hobby as I only started March 2012. But collecting anime and manga isn't my only collection hobby - I love figures! I started collecting figures in 2013 when I first got my collectors editions of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 where one came with a figure of Naruto, and another of Sasuke - from there I made a account on MyFigureCollection and started looking at other series of anime/manga which may have some figures and have a small little collection that is growing.
I am also a huge gamer, I love video games particularly action/adventure games. I have recently started playing more RPGs and feel a bit sad that I never started them sooner as I now have a huge backlog of games as-well. While I'd love to collect games collectors editions - I feel they are normally too expensive for what they are and have ended up only collecting the series I enjoy to play (such as Kingdom Hearts and the Naruto: UNS series).
