This review is only based on paricial episodes, as this show is currently on hiatus. I expected a decent sequel, maybe not as fun as the first season (which was a pleasant surprise) , but generic fun. However....I'm not sure what this is. I reviewed S1 before starting S2 and I still can't follow what is happening. What is going on? Please read at lease the section about the plot before bothering with this sesaon. This anime was a joy to watch with my partner, as it was so laughably terrible we got a kick out of watching it together. While I have not read the original manga, he had, and kept mentioning all the dramatic changes from the source material. I highly recommend you skip this one, unless you're looking for a DTAB show. Story Story is very generic for 2022. OP main character joins a school where he out-classes most of the teachers and quickly grows a harem. If you've heard about Tokyo Mew Mew and were planning on watching this remake to learn about an old classic....don't. Check out the original instead. I've seen bits of the original dubbed series, and read all of the manga, and this show doesn't have the vibes I was hoping for. While the animation is obviously a huge upgrade, I'm not sure if anything else was.

Another year, another Precure! Writing this newbie-friendly review a little over mid season which should be enough to give a fair rating. I should also point out I'm rating this as a standalone anime and not how good it is as a Precure series. In this season, the girls are based on a tropital theme, are pushing makeup toys, and are combating laziness. Teekyuu 2 is the same as the first season: A pile of crazy, random, fast-paced, nonsensical Japanese humor. There is no plot, no central themes, no character development, no nothing. This show is all about "how much randomness can we fit into 2 minutes" and then they play it at a high speed. Scenes are put together similarly to Lucky Star, but with some unrealistic and over the top situations thrown into the mix.
