Chivalry of a Failed Knight

Jan 19, 2017

Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry truly is a diamond in the rough.  I am quite taken aback at myself, as I had watched this some time ago, yet didnt really remember much of it.  Ive always watched movies and anime over and over though, and a few days ago I happened to put it on again. BOY was I pleasantly surprised (and a little shocked I somehow didnt mentally register it as a favorite).  While not some long, enthralling epic like Fate/Stay Night: UBW or SAO, instead it was a shorter, leaner, more lighthearted mini-epic cut from the same cloth. And though it might not move you to... See full review

Phantasy Star Online 2 The Animation

May 13, 2016

Hello all, gather round and lets tell a story about "missed opportunities."  I SWEAR, this show could have been SO much better with just a couple of tweaks.  And I HATE to be so hard on it but not only did I love the games themselves, I thought this was a FANTASTIC idea for a story.

Story:  The story here is pretty much the entire reason to watch this, besides maybe the visuals.  I wont get into it too much, and it is a little cliche (but I try and view everything as its own work, so I dont usually hold that against something unless its BAD), but its done VERY... Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz

Jul 26, 2013

Before we get into my review of the movie finale of the series Gundam Wing, I will say that I do love Gundam Wing the anime.  Being one of the first animes I ever watched (the first being Escaflowne, followed by Gundam Wing along with Tenchi Muyo, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star and others on Toonami, ahh those were the days), it was a superb introduction to the art.  While the deeper pro-war, anti-war, total pacifism philisophical arguments and the more complicated political intrigue might have been lost on me at the time, the art was amazing, the action was spectacular, and the overall story was... The Troubled Life of Miss Kotoura

Jun 24, 2013

I have to say, aside from few greats like Escaflowne, School Days, Kimi Ga Nozomu Ein and a few others, I have rarely been so emotionally MOVED by an anime.  For the good and the bad, this show reaches deep inside you and forces emotions out of you like very few before it have achieved (and this is coming from a guy who half way through School Days still thought it was going to be a regular romantic comedy).  This alone would warrant a very high score from me, but thats not even all its got. STORY: The first episode hits your heart like a dumptruck, and then backs up over it and unloads on... See full review

Soul Link

Jun 5, 2012

Ok, where to start?  I have to say, I dont think I have seen an anime as bad as this one, or at least not in a long time.  Really I wish I hadnt ever watched it, but I did and now Im gonna review it just in case someone else was thinking about watching it. STORY: The story in this one is so back and forth and off the wall its genuinely impossible to try and summarize.  But lets just say it starts out with a terrorist attack on a space station and then gets weird, and THEN gets tripping on acid weird.  I mean plenty of animes have strange plot devices or magical abilities but this... Tokyo Underground

Feb 16, 2010

STORYThe story was pretty good in this anime.  Simple and a little overplayed, but well scripted and it had good pacing.  Basically, a long time ago, an "underground" beneath tokyo was built for researchers to study and experiment with supernatural phenomenon.  The most notably were dragons.  The dragons were awakened however, and the people on the surface, fearing the dragons running rampant and destroying the world, sealed the underground and everyone in it.  Since then people have continued to live there under the "rule" of The Company, which pretty much... Elemental Gelade

Feb 10, 2010

STORYWell, what can I say?  This anime has an interesting story to say the least (if not the MOST original ever).  Basically, a young sky-pirate named Coud (or Cou for short), pretty much just wants to "become a man", you know, find a girl, become a full-fledged member of the "Red Lynks" (the pirate group he is a part of) and earn the right to have a proper weapon, go after adventure, find treasure, all the usuals that young upstarts aspire to.  After a usual raid of another ship, onboard was found a coffin which contained a legendary "weapon" in the form of a... Vexille: 2077 Isolation of Japan

Dec 14, 2009

STORY:  The story is interesting but not incredible.  There is, of course, your standard "evil corporation is out for world domination" blah, blah, blah, but I must say the way they are getting there is quite original.  There was not, however, anything more to the story than that.  No REAL twists and turns (other than a few VERY obvious and easily guessable ones), and nothing beyond the resolution of the main story (again the only exception being one small not-quite side-plot involving the main male characters love interest(s).  So nothing ground-breaking, heart-wrenching...
