Review: Blood+ vs Blood The Last Vampire

While Blood The Last Vampire has amazing animation, kick-butt action, and intimidating character designs it didn’t really seem to do much for me in terms of the story.  All we know is that there’s this girl named Saya who’s on this military base to kill Chiropterans. If you enjoyed that skeletal concept but wanted more story I would strongly suggest that you check out Blood+. Be warned that Saya is not quite so kick-ass in Blood+ as she was in The Last Vampire. This doesn’t necessarily mean that the story suffers. We get to meet a number of different characters and see each of them grow. We also get a more in-depth look of what Saya really is, and where the Chiropterans come from, and even an introduction to Saya’s guardians called Chevaliers.

So generally speaking, if you haven’t watched either, I would start with Blood+ for the story, then watch Blood The Last Vampire for more violent and better animated fighting scenes.
