Recently I came across some manhwa\manga which ended up being far better then what it's summary, covers and initial impression might have implied. Those were Legend Of Maian and Enchanter.
I was reluctant to start reading Legend of Maian because it was written by Im Dal-Young and people were complaining about how it gets worse later on. Finally I gave it a try and found out that it is a solid fantasy, action, adventure series. The bad part didn't turn out to be as bad as people were saying.
The second manga features a boy who looks like a certain great magician\inventor\crafter (those magical crafters are called enchanters in the manga) and a demon girl who looks exactly like said boy's crush (though her personality is completely different). The demon girl was named Yuukanalia and previously mentioned great enchanter was her lover. He is dead now, but Yuukanalia wants to bring him back to life by inserting his soul into the male lead's body (and that kind of means the male lead would have to die). Actually I can't describe this manga in such a fashion that someone would want to read it, but this series is really worth a shot. With the character design and some other elements it might look like a dumb ecchi series, but it's not. Story and character development overshadow the fanservice (which seems rather timid anyway) and on top of that, the characters are fairly likable. The only problem with the series is that, only 11 out of 17 volumes (19 if you count the sequel) are translated. Apparently all scanlation groups dropped this series, because it got licensed, however the US publisher stopped releasing it at volume 10 (which was 3 years ago) and there are no signs of him releasing the further volumes (not like importing the US release is a viable option for me anyway).
