Hi there! Currently, I’m an undergrad studying physiology and neuroscience in sunny California. Besides anime, I love foreign film, classical guitar, and writing. Sometimes I play RPGs and edit videos (remember, AMVs = Amateurs Making Videos). Ok, not always the case, here’s a pro 5cm per second one. Anyways, I’m relatively new to anime and manga, but I hope to watch/read tons more. My favorite genres include sci-fi, slice-of-life comedies, and psychological series. I’ll re-watch anything that makes me laugh, cry, or think, although my favorite shows generally do all three.

Personal Ratings:

<4 – Below average. Avoid at all costs!

5 – Mediocre/Average. Your run-of-the-mill, generic anime. Defines 'Meh'.

6 – Slightly above average. Had some promise, but fell flat on execution.

7 – Good. Recommendable and overall enjoyable, but has some notable flaws.

8 – Great. All around solid show with minor flaws. Well worth watching.

9/10 – Excellent. The best shows of their genre. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the recs! Triplets is very cheap, while Illusionist is reasonable on amazon. Damn. Mary and Max is also cheap! Might just do a job lot on that one.

As for my avatar, it changes fairly frequently. It used to be every coiuple of months I'd swap my avatar-signature combo but nowadays I like a bit of stability, so every six months or so?

Yeah, but not as much as animation. I'ven't seen Nodame yet, because I'm saving it to get me out of one of my anime slumps which show up from time to time. I've heard it doesm't spend as much time in Paris, which is nice, that was my least favorite season. I don't expect it to be as good as the anime- few are. Notable exceptions include the Korean movie adaptaion of Antique Bakery, which is better than the anime version and the manga it's based on- and I'm a huge fan of the mangaka.

No problem! It'd be difficult to get not-gorgeous shots, given the subject matter.

Gah, I forget some people don't use torrents(/aren't as reckless as I) >_<. Sorry, I don't know of any good direct download sites for not-anime.

<3 that's hilarious.

As far as I can tell, there's quite a few torrents of L'Illusionniste out there. I'ven't had the time (or internet access) to look into any, but I doubt they're all bad. And that it's a silent film is nice- my French comprehension is too spotty for me to fully understand any media not intended for children >_<
