Hey, the name is HawaiianLoveGirl22. If you cant tell already, i love anime and manga!!! Anyways,
My anime preference? I love almost any kind of anime. I really do. I'm fine with anything from comedy to mecha to shonen-ai to horror and everything else! The anime just has to have some kind of plot. The drawings have to be somewhat good too. Nothing super super super old. I guess if i had to choose a genre i dont like, it would have to be those ones that look 'family friendly". Like if you go look up the anime ***Doraemon***, that one looks really weird to me. But thats just me, if you like that anime or what not, thats cool. Its just not my thing =P
Other kinds of animes that i dont like are the ones that are REALLY and i mean REALLY perverted. I can handle some pretty major stuff, but i've ran into some that are quite ***coughs*** awkward. But thats just me...=)
I also like to watch anime subbed most of the time. Though i will watch it dubbed at times also. But i'm more of a subbed person. Thats just my opnion, if you like watching it dubbed, thats cool =)
Manga preference? I've never been a huge manga person but ive read many first couple of volumes of mangas and they turn out to be pretty good. But i have this thing where i like to read the actual comic book than reading them online. But if its really good, i will read it online...=) Also, a lot of the manga i've read isnt in the manga database (yet) and i would recommend them if i could write summaries. But i can't, my writing skills suck. Maybe i will recommend one sometime but not anytime soon i dont think. lol.
Some things i wanted to say but i had no idea where to put it: So ummm it says ive watched like 50 something animes, right? well, not really. Whenever i just want to see something thats short, i watch a lot of those anime music videos, and some animes that are like only 3 episodes long. so yeah.
Hmmm, some quick things about me that you probably dont care too much about, haha:
- I'm going to be 16 soon, so im gunna get my drivers license soon. YES!!!
- I'm female. =P
- I like swimming, golfing, iceskating, hanging out with friends, living life, breathe air, having fun. =)
- I'm into any kind of music, literally. I listen to mostly rock and some of that music that some people consider "emo" but thats just me. I do like a lot of techno [[[haha]]], rap, and pop music. not much of a opera person. i also like different language songs, spanish, japanese, hindi, hawaiian, and just anything basically =P
- mmm thats basically it about me, i guess. ;P

Sorry for the late reply; my life's been hectic lately.

Personally, I view the artwork of an anime as an additional means to communicate the storyline/plot; granted beautiful artwork is something that I adore and most certainly should be strived for by the artist but it's not what makes an anime worth watching in of itself. I believe it's all of the elements coordinating together… in other words poorly drawn or old-style artwork doesn't necessarily deter me from watching an anime as long as the storyline/plot is interesting... but that's just my opinion ^^

Lol, I did the exact same thing when I was starting to get into anime as well; although for me it was only the first couple of minutes before I dropped it and moved on to something else ^^, although I came back to Chobits after a year or two from that experience and decided to watch it; since I could properly understand that kind of comedy ^^

Yeah I totally know what you mean... just look at my "want to watch" list.
I don't know how much you'll like chobits, it's more of a male Ecchi nerd romance anime (lol that's a mouthful), it's still worth a watch even if you don't like that kind of stuff.
No problem, I should've said something earlier, I'd just assumed that you saw my watched list.
I've been putting off watching fruit baskets for about five years... for no particular reason other than never getting around to it XD

As for recommendations similar to fruit baskets; gosh... you've already watched everything I was going to recommend to you lol, I guess you could try Chobits.
