By god, it's liike you know what to say every time O_O. IDk what to say after that. Black and white here. I hate CGI animation. I dislike the new animation for words i do not yet know, which will allow me to explain why. LOL CGI looks rubber-ish. Its terrible.
The new animation styles looked more....i need a bigger vocab in terms of this, but looks more rushed. Jin-roh is perfect example of what i like. Almost all the movies ive seen adapt that style for some reason. I have taken notice to this and its quite peculiar. Last few movies i have watch have the animation style to it. IDK im not an artist so i have a very hard time thinking of words to describe the difference. I guess it honestly depends on the quality of the story. If the story sucks then i pay attention to the animation. If the story is great, well i focus more on that aspect.
As for berserk "being cgi heavy" It sounds terrible. After seeing the original so many times and reading the manga, i say the CGI does not do it justice. Sparks flying with the clash of swords? Not even in real life. Sparks flying in the most realistic/fantasy world is shameful. How you and me view the light reflecting off Griffith's face differs a lot. idk, when the series comes out i will judge it then. IM excited for it yet at the same time im weary of how it will turn out.
First off, looking back i can't believe you understood what i meant when i wrote that paragraph. I tried to convey my thoughts but i did not know the right words.
When it comes to quality, the new style is terrible. It makes them look to perfect. The classic style is more suttle and realistic looking. Take Jin-Roh for example, i just watched this. It is essentially the classic style of animation. It is drawn out and simply looks more time consuming which leads me to appreciate it more. The new style, 10' is basically all computer done and cgi looking. It does not feel like the classic animation does. I usually don't base my viewing on the animation style but when the style is to my liking, it makes it a hell of a lot more enjoyable.
I can see why you dont experience it much yourself since you have hardly seen as much as i have. :D It's just a view i have slowly developed over the years of watching anime. I used to not give a damn and watch all the new shows but now i have a low tolerance for new series. opposite of you, they have such great technology yet make it look shitty. Take for example the new Berserk trailers. I mean, what?? Griffith glistens in the sunlight and sparks fly when swords are clashed. That is the best animation style they could utilize while animation a classic none the less a legendary series? They have all the technology but wait, i still think that is the problem inthe first place. Relying to much on it.
Well sorry for late reply, i just was not in mood to reply till now.
The reason itself is not due to the budget but the animation depends on the budget, so if they have a good budget and the animation is great quality then i see no problem having your standards rely on the budget of an anime. Its a rather interesting basis but when i think about it, how else do you base what you like about quality. I mean yes you could base it off eye-appeal but that does not really explain why you like it. Err so in other words, you don't have a particular animation style so long as the effects are good and everything is in working order? Now that i think about it, the budget thing did not get explained to my understanding. If the budget is low then what? You don't like the style and if the budget is high you like the style? Black and white question.
Bah naming anime i dont know of, except Nausicaa. Which i loved that style and story as well. I guess for me, i could give a damn about the budget of any animation project as long as it captivates me somehow. Like i said, if the story is up to par, then i will, more or less, not worry about the animation and just focus ont he entertainment. Though the classics seem to have it all. Bebop was a glorious show. Just the feel of watching a 90's animated series is awesome, you getwhat im saying? Can't concrete the ideas but animes like DBZ or AKira are just so much different then where anime is at today.
so what kind of anime do you like?
All i can say is just watch the anime, it will cater to your liking. It gets much better.
Bah, don't tell me you prefer the newer animation over the classic? The new animation, just puts to much effort into their characters sometimes. Idk i cant explain my concept unless i refer to One Piece, but not sure if you have seen it. Though i suppose, the animation does not matter if the story, characters, blow you away. Personally i liked Hakusho's animation style.
