This 3 episode ova is about Negi and several of his students including Asuna, Konoka, Setsuna and Nodoka undergoing magical training in order to go to Wales to search for Negi's father. When Fuuko and Fumika overhear about the trip word spreads and several of the classmates become jealous, including Ayaka and Makie who have strong feelings for Negi and are upset that they were not told of the trip. There is actually not a lot of training in this anime. Most of the anime focusses more on Anya, Negi's childhood friend, and her struggles with several of the students to get closer to Negi. This is amusing, but it's overdone quite a bit the first half of the anime.

The 3rd episode is more like the Negima!? series in that it focusses more on the entire class while they're enjoying the summer festival and this episode is a lot funnier than the first two. Chibi Mana vs Chibi Kaede, hilarious XD It also features the students that are training showing off their powers a bit more, which has fairly cool visual effects.

There's not much to the storyline in this ova as it focusses more on the interactions between the wide variety of characters which are usually pretty funny. The best part of this anime are the unique personalites of the 30 + characters. There's also quite a bit of fanservice in this anime which is somewhat overdone.

If you're a fan of the Negima!? series than you'll probably enjoy this fun ova. This ova is also the prequel to the Mouhitotsu no Sekai ova series.
