Ohaiogozaimasu! I am an 18-year-old American and have been watching anime on and off for over 3 years now. I don't really go on the forums and don't do recommendations that much, mostly because I don't really have time. However, I will try to do reviews for animes I watch or have watched in the near future. I don't have a 'system' for rating things yet, so please bear with me as I stumble through the process of finding one that works for me. My initial idea will be to just wing it, and rate as high as much as I got personal enjoyment out of it.
I first got into anime with Bleach, since a friend of my brothers had given him a cd-r with the first 25 episodes on it to him. I found it extremely interesting, as I had never watched anime before, and found the animation and concepts unusual. I watched Air Gear and Death Note after my first pause of watching Bleach, was was somewhere around episode 70 (First filler arc, you can understand, right?). I can no longer remember which I had finished first, but I loved both Air Gear and Death Note, both of which still stand out firmly in my mind. Although, it wasn't until I started watching One Piece that I had found precisely what I wanted in an anime--a nonsensical ride that takes you out of your world and into your dreams. One Piece is a favorite among anime fans, both new and old, and is recommended to anyone that can handle the ride.
