If you like Yumeiro Patissiere then you are sure to like Gakuen Alice just the same, because the two have similiar art and comedy. Yes, Gakuen Alice has absoulutely nothing to do with cooking but I do believe the comedy and hints of romance are the same. In Gakuen Alice Mikan like Ichigo doesn't know what to do with herself especially when her best friend Hotaru leaves for Alice Academy in which "gifted" people are forced to enroll into. With Mikan being the stubborn blockhead she is she runs away from home to look for Hotaru in which leads to the meeting of her Sensei through a few problems. Her Sensei is also a "gifted" person who had graduated from the same school he now works in. After her Sensei tells her to wait in a room of the academy Natsume breaks in, and he is very similiar to Kashino. Natsume accidently see's Mikan's panties and thus gives her the nickname "Strawberry Panties" and if you recall Ichigo was nicknamed the same name when the elementary students flipped her skirt and saw her panties. So after receiving her nickname Natsume's friend Riku comes (Which by the way is like both Hanabusa and Andoh are like in a few ways) while Natsume is trying to burn Mikan with his "gift", but does not actually have the intention of really damaging her, anyways it doesn't work and Mikan thus nullifies it which leads to the discovery of her own "gift" and from then on Mikan is now enrolled in the academy and is forced to do her best and never give up to make everything alright, and guess what? She even get's to meet her friend Hotaru again, isn't that just nice?
