I'm Rebecca, 17 y o college student :3

My favourite things in the world are my bands- Keane, Muse and My Chemical Romance :3

My favourite animes are Hana Yori Dango, Digimon 01 and 02, Tokyo Mew Mew, Shugo Chara Doki!! and Lucky Star :) I also like horror genre animes like Higurashi or HOTD, ignoring the whole ecchi-ness of them all. I used to be a big otaku about a year ago, then I took a few months' break away from anime. I'm too busy with work to watch a lot of anime anymore, but I still try to watch something fairly regularly. My want to watch list must recede! :O

I don't particularly like sports anime, and I've never watched a mecha cause none of them have ever sounded very appealing... :S Maybe I should try one just to see :S I'm not really one for hentai, and I only put up with ecchi if its the secondary genre of a show I'm watching and the story is so good it makes it worth all the breats bouncing around.

I went to my first expo when I was 16 so this will be my 6th year going! You should definately try and come along sometime, the London expos are only in May and October, but there are also ones in February and I think October, but those ones are in Telford. I live closer to London, so I only go to the London ones.

Have you visited the website? Seen images? I could send you some links if you like :D

Thanks for replying!

Regarding One Piece, you'll know quite quickly if you like the series or not. The first 50 episodes are in my opinion the most memorable, so if at that point you just don't feel like watching anymore then there really is no point. So if you think One Piece as a 50+ episode series, you might find the time to watch it. And if you love it at that point then you can remind yourself that there is a whole lot more of it.

Hey, it's always nice to see another higurashi fan. While I'd love to say there are plenty of awesome psychological horror animes out there, sadly I have yet to come across one that comes even close to Higurashi. I can however see that we have somewhat of a similar taste (apart from mahou-shoujo genre, which I generally use to give myself a quick concussion) and I may be able to recommend some of my favourites to your way.

First and foremost, One Piece. I am surprised that you haven't yet watched this. It's my all time favourite and the biggest tearjerker of the lot. The only problem with it is that there isn't any romance in it.

Secondly, Code Geass. I know you mentioned that mecha is not your cup of tea, but I dislike mecha too and this anime still rocks. Mainly because the mechas are not the focus of the anime. They are merely tools. It's also the one that I would most recommend for fans of Death Note.

Speaking of Death Note, another one I would recommend for it's fans is Jigoku Shoujo. It has a similar setup of killing people in supernatural means, but the main character is not the one doing the killing (sort of), but the power is given to everyday people in distress.

Those are few of my favourites that you might want to take a look at. If you have some recommendations to throw my way, please do.
