I'm Rebecca, 17 y o college student :3

My favourite things in the world are my bands- Keane, Muse and My Chemical Romance :3

My favourite animes are Hana Yori Dango, Digimon 01 and 02, Tokyo Mew Mew, Shugo Chara Doki!! and Lucky Star :) I also like horror genre animes like Higurashi or HOTD, ignoring the whole ecchi-ness of them all. I used to be a big otaku about a year ago, then I took a few months' break away from anime. I'm too busy with work to watch a lot of anime anymore, but I still try to watch something fairly regularly. My want to watch list must recede! :O

I don't particularly like sports anime, and I've never watched a mecha cause none of them have ever sounded very appealing... :S Maybe I should try one just to see :S I'm not really one for hentai, and I only put up with ecchi if its the secondary genre of a show I'm watching and the story is so good it makes it worth all the breats bouncing around.

Parents are always happy to teach sewing skills, since they come in handy for rips and tears in clothes too...which saves a lot of time, instead of waiting for someone else to sew it for you. When do you turn 16? I was 16 when I went to my first expo and the money I used to go to it was birthday money (my birthday is in June and the expo was in May, so I got my money earlier :D) I do it every year- use birthday money for spending money. That's if you can make it to the May expo, it's not too far away now :)

I've been collecting Tokyo Mew Mew for about 4 or 5 years now, and I never did complete the series >.< They're hard to find in shops now, considering Tokyo Pop went bust last year. I got my Kitchen Princess manga from ebay. I get most of my manga from there, although the volumes are used, they're in brilliant condition (most of the time anyway Dx) and over the years I've got quite a large collection, over 600 volumes, not including art books and Japanese manga that hasn't been translated. That's a crazy amount huh?

What anime are you currently watching? I just finished the first season of Zero no Tsukaima and I really enjoyed it :)

I felt the same when I first decided to cosplay, but if you have someone to help you out it's sooooo much easier. I had my mum and sister to help me, she's younger than me but she had been sewing for years back then so she knew a lot about what fabrics to use and different types of stitches etc. I think you'd be fine in making it, just don't try and get it 100% perfect...every time I have tried to make something 100% I've ended up either really disappointed, or taking up way too much time D: But you can buy cosplays for really cheap. I bought a lolita dress about 4 years ago from a shop in London simply because the price was reduced. I only wore it once but it's a back-up plan for if I don't have time to make a cosplay for an expo :)

It was a job at a call centre and it was awful. Glad I got out of there! Ohh Waterstones <3 I love that store!! It's never too busy or too packed, unlike most other stores, it actually sounds like the perfect place to work <3 and I pass by Burton to get to Birmingham whenever my family wants to visit my sister at uni. I think that's the closest I've ever been to there :/ It's not too far from here though, and Burton is pretty close to the Telford/Midlands expo!

Oh, do you own any manga? Do you own the Kitchen Princess volumes, or did you read it online? I started collecting manga when I was 15, it took about two years to get to 100 volumes x.x

Thanks! Yeah I'm pleased with how the hat turned out, definately the best I've made so far. I'm thinking of cosplaying as Medaka from Medaka Box (everytime I hear it I think of Madoka/Madoka Magica) since the anime is coming out in April. I haven't read the manga yet, so I might have to rush with that cosplay in time for May D: If I can go. I lost my job today, so all my plans are gone now. Sad face. But it's ok, because I didn't enjoy it there anyway! :D

Oh, did you the finish Kitchen Princess manga? You mentioned it in your Yumeiro Patissiere review (which was really good btw!) and I never got round to asking. I read up to volume 7 which is when that really sad thing happens, and still can't believe how depressing a manga about cooking can be. It's so sparkly, but so...dark o.o I don't think I've ever spoken to someone who has read that series!

Ohh, the East Midlands? Near Birmingham? I'm from East Anglia/Peterborough, which is in Cambridgeshire and close to Leicester and Lincolnshire. I hope you know which area I'm talking about, it might be close to where you are o.o It takes about an hour by train, too, which usually costs £25-30...but it'll probably go up before the next expo >.<

I have a cosplay list on facebook...but I don't use FB a lot so there aren't any recent pictures :( the first cosplay I did was Sumomo from Chobits and I also have pictures of Nia from Gurren Lagann, Platinum Royal from Shugo chara and Eva Beatrice from Umineko no naku koro ni. They aren't too recent though, and I've gotten better at the whole sewing/wig styling stuff (just looking at the Sumomo cosplay makes me feel so embarassed xD) Here's the link if you wanna look:

Let me know if you're having problems viewing it, I haven't ever linked anyone to my FB page before Dx That Shugo Chara cosplay group was one of my favourite expos of all time, I didn't know any of the people there though. My sister and her boyfriend cosplayed too, but they didn't make it to the photoshoot in time.

Ohh I love Tokyo Mew Mew <3 it was one of the first manga series I ever read. I hated how they changed the name in the anime series dub though! Lettuce was my favourite character (oh maybe changing her name wasn't so bad xD). I have the first few volumes of Vampire Knight, but haven't read enough to know where the story is going. Does it get good later? Worth completing?

Where abouts in the UK do you live?

Yeah, lucky me! And I cosplayed for them all too! Have you ever tried that, or thought of doing it? It's always worth doing at expos, since a lot of it is about the cosplays and taking photos. And OH! You read Neo? I love that magazine, one of the few good things that the UK has!

The main expo link is http://www.londonexpo.com/ but if you really are interested, sign up for the newsletter and forum, that's where I get most information from. Do you have anyone who would go with you? It has stuff other than anime, like games, Marvel, movie promotions and tv shows (Dr Who and stuff)...but I mostly go for the anime. LOL.
