I have noticed that this site tends to lump these two terms together, as they are often used interchangably. And some shows here are labelled Shounen-ai when they are actually Yaoi, which is a bit of a mistake, and I can explain why.
Shounen-ai: "Boy love" is a romantic relationship between two teen boys or courtly-love relationship between a man and a boy. This is considered a subgene of Shoujo "girl anime" which is written for younger teen girls, therefore it rarely contains kissing, and never sex or mature situations.
Yaoi: Or gay anime is actually a romantic parody between two males, with at least one character being an adult. It is considered a subgene of Josei (though some say it is not) and contains mature situations as well as sex. Sex is secondary to the romantic plot, not to be confused with Gay Hentai.
Gay Hentai: This is basically gay anime porn, I believe this is made with gay men in mind and I imagine ends up being pretty much like regular Hentai which focus the plot around the main characters having sex.
I have looked into other sites which actually specialize in Yaoi and Shounen-ai, and have found some variations on my opinnion of the meaning of these words...again these are seen as interchangable words...which I kind of disagree with but, I have not been into that long.
