Bocchi the Rock!

Feb 18, 2023

I'm going to start with stating, probably, an unpopular opinion of this show. I don't understand why this show is as highly rated as it is. In the top 100 best rated on this site (at the time of writing this review). People giving it rave reviews all across other sites on the internet saying it's so great. I don't get it. Maybe I'm not seeing what everyone else is seeing. Maybe I'm not in the right headspace to fully understand what others find so great about this show. With that said, I'm gonna just give my unpopular opinion on Bocchi the Rock! Let's start with the story. Hitori Gotoh (Bocchi) is a girl... See full review

Barakamon

Mar 15, 2015

THE STORY IS: Seishuu is a 23-year-old calligrapher who gets sent to an island after impulsively punching an old man in the face. This old man also happens to be the director of the museum Seishuu's calligraphy is being displayed at. Coming to the island, Seishuu finds that there are many differences in the country as opposed to city living as well as with the people that live there. All Barakamon tells is a tale about Seishuu trying to find inspiration to write his own style of calligraphy while goofing off on the island along with the inhabitants. I was very skeptical when I first started... See full review

Btooom!

Jan 31, 2014

BTOOOM! definitely seems like a type of online game that you would have to take some time getting good at. With no guns like most modern day shooters, bombs are more strategic and have to be used sparingly. THE STORY IS: Ryouta Sakamoto is Japan's top ranked player on the popular online game BTOOOM! He is a 22-year-old with no job who spends his life as a shut in playing his life away on the game. One day, he wakes up on a tropical island with a pack full of bombs not knowing or remembering how he got there. When he comes across another person on the island, feeling relieved, he finds that the other... See full review

Bunny Drop

Oct 18, 2013

At first, I was kind of skeptical about watching Usagi Drop. I read that it touched upon some mature themes and it didn't seem like an anime that I would personally enjoy. I'm glad I gave it a chance though. Only being 11 episodes long, I decided why not give it a try. I wish it was a tad longer though. THE STORY IS: Daikichi is a 30 year old bachelor who lives by himself and occupies his time by working a lot. Upon receiving a call that his grandfather had passed away, Daikichi packs and heads back to his hometown for the funeral. There, he briefly meets a girl that he, nor anyone else, have ever seen... BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad

May 21, 2013

I love rock and roll as much as the next person does. Every one also dreams about being a rock star. Playing music in front of a huge crowd that is there to see you, there doesn't seem to be a feeling quite like it. Watching Beck gave me a glimpse of what it would be like. THE STORY IS: Koyuki is a 14-year-old middle school student who is shy and lacks confidence and feels disconnected from life. He's very down on himself and wants excitement. One day when Koyuki is walking home from school, he saves a very strange looking dog named Beck from a bunch of bullies. Through that event he meets Ryuusuke... See full review
