Upon getting to class, she tries to make friends with two girls who do nothing but talk about their boyfriends. Erika, trying to fit in, decides to talk about her boyfriend. Problem is she doesn't have one. She goes into town and snaps a picture of a random boy so she can show her "friends" what her "boyfriend" looks like. School-Live!

on

THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SOME SPOILERS.  THE STORY IS: As you've probably gathered from reading other reviews or from other sources, this anime is about a zombie apocalypse. Four high school students and their teacher are struggling to survive inside of their high school. Honestly, there is not much else. Gakkou Gurashi! is one of those animes that comes around and catches everyone off guard. People say it's better to go into this anime without knowing anything about it. I agree with them. It adds to the shock factor when you finally see what it's truly about. Let's get to the brunt of... See full review

My Love Story!!

on

THE STORY IS: Takeo Gouda is a very intimidating looking giant of a high school student. Not popular with girls at all, but very popular amongst the guys for his strength. All the girls are attracted to Takeo's good looking best friend Sunakawa, but when any girl confesses to him, he turns them down. Takeo & Sunakawa are riding the train one day & end up saving Yamato from a gropper. From there, Yamato has her eyes on Takeo & they start to date. The story was a nice change of pace from the usual stuff where it's always the popular guy going for the un-popular girl. This time around the hot... See full review

Seraph of the End: Battle in Nagoya

on

THE STORY IS: Battle in Nagoya picks up right where the first part of Seraph of the End left off. This time around, the gang comes back together & gets orders to partake in a raid on Nagoya to try and kill any and all vampire nobles. The story overall for Seraph of the End holds a lot of promise to be a great story. With the pacing issues of the first season & the annoyance of the character's personalities, the first season fell flat. Battle in Nagoya is, honestly, no better. The pacing is better this time around, but the characters are still the same & the story didn't get... See full review

Say "I love you."

on

THE STORY IS: Mei Tachibana is an unsocialable girl who has no friends & plans to keep it that way...until she round house kicks Yamato by mistake down a flight of stairs. Yamato is the most popular & attractive guy in the school. After that encounter, Mei has attracted the attention of Yamato. He starts to pursue Mei & little by little he seems to start breaking Mei out of her shell. Of course the story is going to be cliche. Most popular high school boy pursues the most unpopular girl school & develop a romance around it. Regardless, it wasn't bad. There was nothing special about it... See full review

Seitokai Yakuindomo

on

THE STORY IS: Takatoshi Tsuda attends a high school called Ousai Academy, which was converted from an all-girls school to co-ed with very few males attending. Tsuda is forcibly recruited by the student council president to take the position of the vice-president leaving him to be the sole male representative. The story follows Tsuda and his interactions with the student council and other schoolmates throughout the school year. Seitokai Yakuindomo was an interesting anime...if you could call it that. To sum it up in a nutshell, it's a school-life drama mixed with a lot of pervertedness. When I say a lot, I... See full review

When she decides to confess her love to him, she instead confesses that she is a huge fan of him & Nozaki gives her an autograph. She later finds out that he is a popular manga artist & gets roped into helping him out with his manga. I knew this was going to be a typical "school life" & shounen" type anime, but Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun doesn't really do anything different to help it stand apart from the rest in this genre. Mainly, it's very standard & dull. Over the... See full review

I honestly wasn't expecting much of this anime to begin with. The only thing that kept my interest was, mostly, the story. After hearing many people knock down the developers of this anime and what a history they have, I really wasn't expecting much, but it was a decent ride. THE STORY IS: Hope's Peak Academy is THE most prestigious school to go to. Only the brightest and talented have a shot at getting in and once you're in, you are set for life practically. Hotarubi no Mori e

It's pretty common to get the sensation of feeling like you care for the characters in an anime spanning 20 episodes or more. It's rare to come across a 12 or 13 episode anime that gives you that sensation. It's possibly the rarest of them all to accomplish a liking and a genuine care for the characters in 45 minutes. Hotarubi no Mori e is that prized gemstone. THE STORY IS: Hotaru is a 6 year old girl who gets lost in the forest and can't seem to find her way out. High School DxD is defintely a strange anime at it's core. I've watched ecchi before, but none to this extent. Most of it was intentional and it turned me off to certain aspects of this anime. At first, I was kind of skeptical about watching Usagi Drop. I read that it touched upon some mature themes and it didn't seem like an anime that I would personally enjoy. I'm glad I gave it a chance though. Only being 11 episodes long, I decided why not give it a try. I wish it was a tad longer though. THE STORY IS: Daikichi is a 30 year old bachelor who lives by himself and occupies his time by working a lot. Attack on Titan

There are very few anime that I get extremely excited for and Attack on Titan was one of them. Waiting months for it to finish and watch all at once was a neck breaker, but it left me amazed and craving more. THE STORY IS: Centuries ago, giant humans called Titans appeared, seemingly, out of nowhere and like to eat humans for no reason. Years later, all is well in the walled cities until one day when a Colossal Titan appeared out of nowhere and broke open the wall letting... See full review

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

on

After watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, you are introduced to a mixed variety of characters that you kind of become attached to. Not mentally, but in the way of you can feel their pain. The story didn't shine on the potential it had and kind of left it high and dry. The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya really brings to light a more psychological aspect. THE STORY IS: The story pretty much picks up right where Melancholy left off. The SOS Brigade is getting ready to throw a Christmas party. December 18 comes around and Kyon wakes up to, what seems like, a normal day. Little by little he... See full review

Every once in a while it's nice to take a break from the usual and pick up watching something that is a bit more subtle. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya has a strange vibe about it that I couldn't help but like it in the end. THE STORY IS: Kyon is a typical high school student who gets bored in class and likes to go about his normal life...that is until he meets Haruhi Suzumiya. I am never a fan of short anime series' just because I feel like it doesn't have the time to grow and/or explain anything to achieve a certain level of detail. Inu x Boku SS is, in my opinion, a prime example of a story not reaching anywhere near it's potential. THE STORY IS: The Maison de Ayakashi is a pretty prestige apartment building where humans with demon ancestors called Youkai reside.
