I got started on anime due to my aunt in Japan sending the family a bunch of VHS sets with things she had recorded for us. The most important to me, was a tape with Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, and Laputa...in their original Japanese audio. They weren't subbed either, and so even though none of us but my mother speak any Japanese, we were all in love due to how good Studio Ghibli is at creating feeling that transcends speech.
I guess that's not all that much about me though is it? I like reading, writing, digging, playing games on occasion (video, card, board, whatever) anime (obviously) and I used to spar occasionally for fun. I also go shooting from time to time.
Don't know what's relavent to this section at this point, so I'll stop there.

Re: Shigurui Review.
Thanks for the comments. It honestly surprises me when any of my reviews continue to provoke a comment many years after they've been written.
I'd actually agree with you that I don't think a series needs likeable characters to be entertaining (generally it's more important to me that characters be interesting rather than likeable). But I appreciate there are viewers who prefer to have someone to root for and I felt it was important to emphasize that Shigurui doesn't really provide that.
