This show is possibly the most horrible series I've ever forced myself to sit through.. This series does not receive Ivo's Seal of Approval

Tragedy on the G Line

on

I don't know if this can technically be called an anime or not.  It's got no plot, no characters to speak of, no character development, etc.  And this is coming from someone who enjoys abstract stuff. The audio was incredibly grating for the first 3.5 minutes or so, visuals were ok for what i assume to be completely free hand.  If you have a short attention span, enjoy things that are just wierd and like the game game series (flash games) this may be for you. game game 6: http://www.secrettechnology.com/gamegame/gamegame.html To be honest, I don't know if this kind of thing deserves a... Death Note

Awesome series... it was a tad long, but kept my interest well enough... it has a couple slow spots, but not many... the ending is pretty much awesome.  The replacement antagonist was no where near as good as the original (no, i'm not going to name them).

Overall, I quite enjoyed this series, and would recomend it to anyone.

I've seen this series before, and quite liked it.  No different this time.  Somehow, it feels similar to Trigun, but with vampires. Trinity Blood receives Ivo's Seal of Approval.

Hellsing

Somehow reminds me of a mixture of Elfen Lied, Excel Saga, and vampires.  Over all, I like the series, lots of action and excitement.  If someone wanted to watch it again, I would probably watch it with them.

I'm not going to lie, during about half the series, I was working on my home server, so I wasn't paying too much attention.  I'll have to rewatch the series sometime. Hellsing recieves Ivo's Seal of Approval.

Strike Witches TV

If you like alot of panty shots... you'll love this series.
Has some instances of plot, but not much.  If they really wanted to make a good series, they could have done with less boobs, and more plot.
It's not my favorite series, but it's not something I wouldn't watch again.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai

on

I felt that the first Higurashi series was excelent, then I watched this one... I can't say enough good things about this one really...  one of the things that I liked about this one is that they didn't really change the format that they were using in the previous series, but then again... why fix what isn't broken. I highly recommend this series for anyone that likes a good thriller or mystery. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai gets Ivo's Seal of Approval.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei

on

I went into this series knowing that it was going to be different than the other two (simply because the endless repititions ended with the final arc of Kai).  That said, the series still felt like all filler to me.  It focused more on humour than violence, which is something that is unexpected from Higurashi I thought. I still liked it though, simply because it's only five episodes long. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei gets Ivo's Seal of Approval.

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2009)

on

I finished this one a while ago.  It wasn't too bad, but was just so boreing, and I actually found Lucky Star to be somewhat exciting, in a boring way, if that makes any sense. I guess "Endless Eight" didn't really help all that much. I can say this, the last couple episodes are awesome (The Day of Sagittarius).   The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya does not receive Ivo's Seal of Approval.

Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid OVA

on

The ova isn't too bad... it seems to be more humorous than the first series, but not as bad as Fumoffu... since it is a one off thing, it didn't bother me as much as Fumoffu did.  If Fumoffu was only one or two episodes, it wouldn't have been so bad.  Over all, I like it. Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid

Great series really... I liked is more than the first series, and whole lot more than fumoffu. It seems to be more action oriented than the first series was, but still has a little bit of comedy scattered throughout. It is a great series, and is highly recommended.   Full Metal Panic! Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu

on

Full metal panic! Fumoffu... I don't really know what to think... it's not a bad series... but it takes a very far detour from the first series (which was a nice balance between humour and action)... this one is pretty much all humour... if the series wasn't related to the first one... it would be a great comedy... but... it is... it's still good... but it feels out of place (especially the last episode).

Full Metal Panic seems like a pretty good series... adequate action throughout, appropriate music, and good animation. The last episode felt right for the rest of the series. It was a great series, and I recommend it to anyone who likes mecha series.   Full Metal Panic gets Ivo's Seal of Approval

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

on

When I first started this series, unfortunately I knew what was happening, and I think that kinda messed things up for me, It wasn't a pure experience. If you haven't seen the series, you really should, it's now my favorite series, it somehow manages to be creepy, violent, gory (not as gory as Elfen Lied), and cute all at the same time, and I think it pulls that out very well. I kinda thought it was like a combination of Elfen Lied (my old favorite series), and Lucky Star (my old second favorite), assuming you liked both series, you should probably like this. I'm watching Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai... See full review

FLCL

... Where to begin... I don't know, I knew it was going to be strange before i seen it, but... I wasn't prepared for this... Coherent plot:  um... Likable characters:  yes It's not as crazy as Excel Saga (that may be because of the length of the series)... but it is definitely weirder... Like Eureka 7, I don't regret watching it, but it's definitely not one that I would watch again (mostly because of stories I have heard that say it gets less coherent the more times you watch it).

Eureka Seven

on

Took me forever to watch this series.  I have been watching this on and off for about 3 weeks now, I don't have as much time as I once had. It's a good series, I certainly don't regret watching it, but it's not exactly my cup of tea, it just seemed to drag things out, I can't think of anything in particular, but the series just seemed to go slow for me. Like I said, it's just not my taste, I think it may be because it's a romance series, and this being the first romance series i've ever actually watched, I don't think I will watch many others.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2

on

Wow, that ending was great.  I have seen this and the previous series/season (I'm not to sure what to call them exactly) before this watching, but that was several years ago, when it was first shown on Adult Swim, and I have forgotten most of it since then, so it was kinda like starting all over again on the series.  I had read somewhere that the first season was quite a bit better than R2, but I can't really see how, I enjoyed them both, but I believe R2 to be the better of the two.  If you haven't seen the show, you really need to. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

on

(CAUTION: Spoilers) I just got done watching this, it's 6:50am, pulled an all-nighter to watch the last couple episodes.  I enjoyed it.  It looks amazing, the battles are epic, and it's one of the few anime that I find rather believable... there wasn't anything that seemed TOO far fetched that I couldn't believe it.  Lelouch is quite believable as well, acting purely logical throughout most of the series, but he seems to snap at the end when his sister is kidnapped.  It also seems surprisingly believable that people can take the life of another as often as they do without a second... Lucky Star

on

Quite frankly... one of the most boreing anime I've ever watched... I wanted to beat my head on the wall with every episode (in the beginning anyways)... but I kept comming back... a rather odd anime that was surprisingly good for how painful (literally) it was for me to watch... It really says something about a series when you want to torture yourself while watching the show, but keep comming back to watch another episode. Lucky Star gets Ivo's Seal of Approval

Gore and nudity, can't go wrong.  I enjoyed watching it.  I've heard that it's similar to Gantz.  I've seen Higurashi, and if you like that, you will probably enjoy this (as the recomendations sugest).  I can say this though... the blood looks like ketchup spills. Neon Genesis Evangelion

One word: Awesome I once read a quote about Neon Genesis, "It's strange that 'Evangelion' has become such a hit - all the characters are so sick!" —Hideaki Anno ... I gotta agree with that... the characters are always struggling with relationships, their own personalities, and their past. It's a great anime, and if you haven't seen it, you need to. Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone

on

This movie is basically the same as the first 6 episodes of the anime with a few differences, I'm not going to watch them side by side and list every difference, but I only noticed any real change with the fifth angel (Ramiel)... he seems alot more powerful in this.  In the anime, he stayes an octahedron the whole time.  In this, he changes into several different shapes.  I don't have much else to say... It's the same thing as the anime. Evangelion 1.01 gets Ivo's Seal of Approval.
