I liked the first books I read by Eddings, but then I read more of them and realised that her wrote the same story over and over and over again. I really like Ursula le Guin's Earht sea.

Epic fantasy novels as in Raymond E. Feist, or epic fantasy novels as in Robert Jordan? I love fantasy myself, but it really annoys me when authors instead of telling the story starts to ramble and write for word count and money.
