about me

Hey ya'll!

Well, I'm just an amateur anime watcher, I'm new here, and I hope I'll have the chance to enjoy my stay here. (this was written 5 years ago, now I'm not so new lol)

My Top 5 Anime (outdated)

  1. Gunslinger Girl
  2. Death Note
  3. Cromartie High School
  4. Elfen Lied
  5. Planetes

I could say Gunslinger Girl kinda dragged me into this, as it was one of my first japanese animation experience. So it'll always stay as my favorite and special anime. After GG titles like Serial Experiments Lain, Paranoia Agent, Elfen Lied and then later Death Note completely made me a fan of this genre. If you haven't seen any of these.. lucky you!

I follow my simple how-much-was-I-entertained rating system. So if I gave Monster, for example, a low score it doesn't mean I think it's a bad anime. It's good, but I found it too slow, didn't like the ending, or any other elements which drags my entertainment level down decides how many stars it'll get. So basically my thoughts after I finish a show are more or less as follows:

3.5 and up - from good to very good, entertaining watch.
3 - average, ok.
2.5 - just plain mediocre.
2 and less - from bad to worst.

Good lord, my comment cherry has been popped!

But yeah, i tend to have a lot of shows ont he go at any one time. I only really need a few hours sleep every couple of days so i habve plenty of time to watch things! My watching list is going to get massive when the Spring season starts though, there's so many shows i plan on picking up it's unreal.

And Seikon no Qwasar......I watched one and i was done for the night! I'll get a couple in tonight probably, but it depend on how much Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo grabs me, but so far after 3 eps it looks like i'll marathon it in one day!

Hahah... Well, thanks. =)

I'll definitely check out Nana at some point, but like you I have the problem of this huge anime backlog to get through... And since I'm so random in my anime-watching habits I often disregard those and start new things that weren't in the ''list'' to begin with... *sigh*

Anyway, I'd like to start Nana soon, while I still have the time to. Maybe after finishing one or two of the short TV shows I'm currently watching (since Nana is pretty time-consuming in comparison). I've had many people recommend it to me (one being very reliable) and it does seem a great thing to watch.

I see we have a similar taste in anime :) And I just saw your post on "What are you currently watching?", I personally love Katsura and the Shinsengumi scenes. Anyway, thanks for the welcome, have fun ! :>

Hi there, just dropping by to say I'm friggin' loving Excel Saga. ^^

12 episodes in and I've laughed pleeeeenty of times. Nabeshin, Pedro and Excel are fucking hilarious, and so are Il Palazzo and the unemployed dudes sometimes.

My favorite episode so far is the fourth, in which they parodied romance anime. Il Palazzo and his sim game were PRIIIIIIICELEEESSSS.

Well, I guess the comedy's speediness and spontaneity are best appreciated in small episodes. Twenty minutes altogether might drag it out quite a bit.

By the way, I've been meaning to ask, where is the character in your signature from?
