there are only few good samurai movies..I didn't like the Last Samurai either..but I liked Zatoichi the blind samurai or Azumi..and as for martial arts movies in general - I remember House of Flying Daggers (martial arts + lovestory), Hero and Curse of the Golden Flower

and why do you exactly practice boxing/why do you want to practice other martial arts?..to feel safe? to be able to protect someone? to be strong? to be in a good condition?

my bf. practiced kung-fu for a long time..and still he told me that the best thing to do when you are in danger is to run..^_^

now I get it..my point was why did you start to practice boxing instead of some japanese martial arts (and instead of becoming a "samurai")..because it's possible to learn techniques with japanese swords..I don't know much about it, but there are martial arts schools when you can learn to use katana and learn various techniques with it - kendo or kenjutsu or something like this..

do you think they don't exist anymore?..^_^..they surely don't look like typical samurais from Bakumatsu, but still I think it's the heart and the beliefs which makes samurai a samurai..the original purpose was not simply to assasinate, but to develop the body and soul..this was greatly expressed in the movie Ghost Dog, see trailer here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q2CFxCfQM4

and Azumi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE6Gy73Mo4o

once, I watched lot of martial arts movies^_^ I admire strength..as something I am lacking..lol
