Anticipated Anime of Fall 2013

24 SEP

So the Fall season, the Fall season of 2013. I'm shocked, surprised and stupefied. Did you see how many series are coming out this season? 42. 42 titles, including the 3 minute series. Isn't 42 the answer to life or something.....? 42. Fourty-two. 4 and 2....

*Being interrupted. What's that? It's not 42 series. Oh thank god, for a moment I thought I was going to have a heart atta.............  46 SERIES? Daffffffuuuuqq..............?

Welcome everyone to my Anticipated Anime of Fall 2013, where I'll be ranking the anime from this season that I'll be looking forward to. And yes, I am doing all 46 series. *Sigh. 46 series, this is quite literally the first time I'd gone and watch this many from a season alone that I can recall. I've been watching almost all anime, season by season back of Spring 2012 when I first started this. Good times, good times. But back to Fall 2013, I'm quite ecstatic for this upcoming season because I can finally determine if I have what it takes to watch the majority of them. See what I did there? I said majority, not all and I'll explain why. Back then, I have this goal, mindset to watch all the anime from a season and I've been accomplishing it, for the most part. Now-a-days, I just don't want to do that. Why? Because of the damn Summer season. That season fucked me over! Bad anime, one after another, it messes with your mind man. But that be spoilers for my next blog post once the Summer season is over. So let what I said be a taste of what's to come. Anyways, back to the Fall season. There are definitely anime that I plan on avoiding at all costs and that goes to 2014 as well. Thus, I'll be changing format, as I've always done in the past. Not really a huge change.

~I still judge the anime based on synopsis, anime poster found at anichart.

~This list again will be focused on TV series. OVAs and movies are not included because of time scheduling and I rarely watch movies. Shorts, well they're short and it's already a given that I'll be watching it, regardless.

I think I covered the basis. Let's get started then. This is my Most Anticipated Anime of Fall 2013.

TV series that I won't be watching.

  1. Freezing Vibration : Don't get me started. Please refer to my rant/review of it in my last blog post; A Damias' Review : Prequel Bananza
  2. Saikyou Ginga Ultimate Zero: Battle Spirit : Do I have to explain myself here? This belongs to the CW Saturday lineups of bad dubbed shows that all 10 year old Americans would enjoy to corrupt their wittle minds to buy their toys or something. I am definitely not watching 50+ episodes of this. I barely finished that other generic car/mech/card game/shounen show with that one protagonist that keeps spouting nonsense that is depressing. *Flips table.
  3. Gaist Crusher : While I do share the same opinion like Battle Spirit, I do consider watching this. IF, if it isn't more than 26 episodes. Anything more than 26 is denied!

Now that I got that out of the way, let's get to the actual list but before that; let me quickly cover the shorts.

Shorts, OVAs and movies I'm planning on watching.

  1. Teekyuu 3 : Its a third season of one of the most fast paced, eccentric group of comedic girls you'll ever meet. This show is crazy and you'll love it.
  2. Miss Monochrome : A mascot show. Whatever.
  3. Super Seisyun Brothers : Animation looks neat and I guess it'll be funny.
  4. Pokemon: The Origin : It's the beginning, the story of Red. OMFG. If you are a pokemon fan, you have to watch this.

Most Anticipated TV Series

  1. Kill la Kill : My most anticipated. Mostly because it's done by a brand new studio called Trigger who had done phenomenal work; such as the beautifully animated Little Witch Academia and a cheaply made but still fantastic and hilarious, Inferno Cop. Yeah, you can say that these aren't exactly good reasons to suggest that this'll be good. I mean, these are the same people who had done Gurren Lagann. Though I had not seen that as well, many are hoping for it to be great, at least. The animation and character design is superb, based on the promos and news of it. Yes, I have been following it. Trigger is my first studio that I know whole heartedly and we both represent the new age of anime viewers. If that made any lick of sense.
  2. Hajime no Ippo: Rising : Ippo is the greatest sports anime that I have ever encountered. Most notably the first season. I had not watched the second season yet and I am doing the franchise injustice for not getting to it sooner but I had a valid reason. Once you've finished watching all of Ippo and having to wait a couple of months till the third season arrive, the void. The emptied space, waiting days, months, years. It's unbearable. There is also a bit of cautious. This is done by Madhouse. I know, they done it before but this is Madhouse of 2013. Where they have been doing some terrible series, in my opinion. Such as Summer 2013 anime, Btooom!, Photo Kano. Dear god, these shows are terrible. Undeniable shit. Still looking forward to some Ippo goodness.... That didn't sound right. ._.
  3. Noucome : Before you say anything, yes this is an abbreviated name. But to what actually? Well, let's just say that this is quite literally the anime with the longest title in existence. I mean come on? What is with anime and long titles? Why? Is it a trend? Is it supposed to be funny? Because I am not laughing. I could barely say Oreimo's full name. Anyways, what is this series about? Well, just like all other anime with long ass titles, it's about a boy. A unique boy who has the ability/curse where he must answer multiple choice questions. That there is some funny. I expect great things from this series. Also the animation looks neat. Very cute and stuff. Also, because I care, the title of Noucome..... Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru. Try saying this twice, I dare you!
  4. Yuusha ni Narenakatta : Another series with a long ass title. Well you can forget it. I'm not going to write this one. Jesus. So it's a comedy about a failed hero and a demon daughter together doing stuff. Makes sense. The character designs are eye candy, I can't stop ignoring the cute white haired girl who I think is the demon girl and thank god because she's not a red head like some other demon girls.
  5. Samurai Flamenco : A super hero show with an interesting slogan. The animation looks pretty rad and going by the slogan, if it does involves character growth, I expect great things from this series.
  6. Ace of Diamond : A baseball themed anime. Interesting. Character designs; interesting as well. I look forward to an interesting show about baseball. ._.
  7. Non Non Biyori : I can't help it. I just love my cute girls doing cute things anime. Unfortunately, its middle school girls and it's in the outskirt of civilization..... I'll take it. This is the only SOL girls' anime this season. Damn you anime gods!
  8. Golden Time : I detect love in the air. Yeah, going by that, it's a romance anime. Not much to say, plot wise. I hope its not too forced, over dramatic and it keeps the romance simple. The character design does look nice.
  9. Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai! : Its pretty much female wrestlers wrestling..... As if it wasn't ecchi enough, I am going to love this series for its over the top premise. Oh come now, you don't expect me to hate all ecchi anime. There are some I can watch, forgive and tolerate. Like this one. Why? Because it knows what it is and it should not be taken seriously.
  10. Pupa :  A psychological horror anime. Neat. A little girl who turns into a monster and eats people. Neat. I don't often get to watch shows like these and it's a great opportunity since Halloween is approaching. The animation looks nice, sharp and contrast, based on the background of the poster. I also hope that the writing isn't that terrible. Shows like these do sometimes have poorly written dialogue and story wise.
  11. Nagi no Asakura : There is not synopsis. So I can't tell what this show is going to be about but the reason I had it this high is mostly because I adore the character design and animation. It's a Damias' thing. You won't understand.
  12. Log Horizon : I had been anticipating this show ever since Anichart came about. A similar premise to the SAO anime but this time I expect better things than SAO. The animation looks neat but the character designs seem to have these outlines, similar to Hyakka Ryoran. I hope I'm not expecting too much from this series.
  13. Outbreak Company : I was drawn into the animation and character designs, like always. The plot is definitely reeks of harem but if it's a MOE! harem, I'm all for it. If it's just moe harem. Damn you anime gods!
  14. Yowamushi Pedal : Another sports anime but this time, its cycling..... Cycling. Oh come now. Cycling can be cool. You got the generic spineless main character... oh dear god it's generic. Please don't be generic. The animation and character designs do scream WILD! so I am expecting a wild moments with bicycles..... ._.
  15. Meganebu! : If you don't like glasses, you're a jerk. If you don't like hot guys with glasses, you're a super jerk. If you don't like SOL about hot guys with glasses, then go watch Freezing. See what I care.
  16. Coppelion : I know people have been raving about it, luckily I'm not one of them. Sure the animation is beautiful and the premise is interesting but I expect some real dull stories and arcs. Call it a hunch. The character designs, particularly the face of our main protagonists just doesn't interest me.
  17. Kuroko no Basket 2 : I had forgotten why I gave the first season such a low score. As long its about basketball, maybe it'll be good. Like the last two super duper best basketball prospects are super duper amazing..... Sigh, I bet it was the padding that irate me.
  18. Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova : So its Waterworld, the anime. Not exactly Waterworld but the setting is based on the sea.
  19. Walkure Romanze : This the last sports anime, I swear. Yes, jousting is a sport. I know its not a sports anime but its about a sport so its a sports anime..... sort of. And its ecchi too and a harem..... Neat.
  20. Tesagure! Bukatsumono : Well I'll be damn, there is another SOL school club anime. Yay! Wait, is that CG? Nooooooooooo!
  21. Galilei Donna : What's that? Galileo's three moon daughter descendants are internationally wanted? Along with an amazing character designs and animation? Sign me up.
  22. Pokemon XY : Yes, I am going back to Pokemon. Lately, I've grown interest in Pokemon mainly because of the Youtube Pokemon nerds. No offense to them. Their videos caught my interest. And ever since I've learned that there's an actual interesting history based on each generation's pokemon, I'm looking forward to discover what this generation is about. I know I had missed the Sinnoh and Unova generation but I could care less because they can just reset everything as if nothing happened. Take Ash for example, he's still 10 fucking years old. Don't believe me, check out JWittz's channel. Pikachu, another example. Should be an extremely powerful pokemon based on level but still got his ass kicked by a noob Snivy back in Unova. Whatever, I'm happy to be back in the Pokemon fandom. Also, I love the redesign of Ash. He looks so much older now.
  23. Seiyuu Sentai Voicestorm : I believe in those that fights for justice, MOE! justice. Though not technically an anime, it's more comic style animation, like Inferno Cop.
  24. Kakumeiki Valvrave 2 : Everything in season 1 was just so bad. Yet it's so fun to watch. Lets go over the top stupid plot, premise and characters.
  25. Kyoukai no Kanata : Before the Summer season started and heard news of this, I was hyped for this. Months later, I lost all hope for this. Its not the animation. Its KyoAni, they are the founding fathers for MOE!, cutesy, fantabular animations. Then why? Because its fucking KyoAni. Season by season, I see shows of theirs and all them let me with no impressions. The story, plot, progressions, and dialogue just bore me. The same happened to Free!. Just plain boring. Stop boring me KyoAni. You're better than that. You did freakin' Lucky Star and Haruhi for goodness sake.
  26. Little Busters! Refrain : This time, the story has been amplified. I don't know how nor do I remember. What I do remember were the very rushed arcs. But I do adore this series.
  27. Magi: The kingdom of Magic : The first season was okay. The animation was superb, characters are fun to watch and the plot, still as shounen as ever. But I expect good things.
  28. Strike the Blood : Meh. It sounds interesting. The animation is neat but the character designs feels dull and I for some reason detect something similar to that other show I detest. I seem to have forgotten the name.....
  29. Gingitsune : Another show that I'd seen from seasons ago? I honestly don't want to put it this low because I think it has potential for me to enjoy. The main priest girl seems like a fun character but the overall mood just doesn't interest me.
  30. Unbreakable Machine-Doll : So a guy wants revenge, so he uses a magical puppet to use and seek out the guy he wants revenge on by going to a school. Doesn't that just wow, I'm going to be intrigued by the premise. The school setting is starting to annoy me now. Not the SOL school setting, that is fine. But with a plot that involves revenge, a school. Really? The animation did catch my attention, including the character designs and the puppet girl.
  31. Gundam Build Fighters : Not exactly something to be amazed about. Its freakin' Gundam. The premise are always the same, yet this one seems slightly space free. Though I'll be watching because its Gundam and I do need a couple of Gundam anime in my pantheon of watched anime.
  32. Kyousougiga : Finally, a TV series for the most confusing, yet eccentric visually beautifully and colorful animated anime ever. Its like doing drugs but you're not.
  33. Aikatsu! 2 : Man, the beginning I harped the first season because I was so young, foolish and idiotic back then. Now I just adore this series. I'll elaborate when the time comes. Let's just say I wouldn't mind seeing a second season.
  34. Tokyo Ravens : This is definitely going to bore me. Nothing about it shouts interest. The characters aren't interesting, the synopsis isn't interesting, hell the title isn't interesting. And Pokemon XY got a pass.
  35. Infinite Stratos 2 : I'm only watching this for Charlotte and Laura. The rest can go kiss my derrière.
  36. Diabolik Lovers : Because poor speeling is kewl. Also, sadistic vampires who the main protagonist is gonna live with is kewl as well. Shoujo, what am I to do with you? You continue to fail and fail with me. Stop that, I want to at least enjoy one, ONE shoujo anime that doesn't involve raping vampiric brothers. Is that what you shoujo audience want? Sadistic, sexual harassing vampires who rape people? *Flips table
  37. BlazBlue: Alter Memory : I believe this is a game adaptation, like those before. Still not banking I'll enjoy this like I did with DS2.
  38. Yozakura Quartet: Hana no Uta : I believe I did a review on the first season.... Just to simplify, it was boring, the character's actions were annoying, particularly a certain male protagonist. Oh well, let's see if I can enjoy this sequel.
  39. White Album 2 : I haven't finished the first season yet, so no opinion.
  40. Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle 3rd Season : Bwa-hahaha. Save the world by solving puzzles. This is Yu-gi-oh stupid. But still entertaining none the less.

And that is my most Anticipated Anime of Summer 2013. So much anime, so much sequels and sports. Thanks again for taking your time to read my stuff. Look forward to my Top Anime List of Summer 2013, its right around the corner. And now if you excuse me, I need to take a break, this was excruciating painful to list. And one last thing, fuck you Freezing. The worst anime I had ever watched. Its too bad I might be peer pressured into watching it. Damn you A-P! :I

Ah... I've been behind on this season (only watching three), so I decided to read a couple of animes' synopsis to get an idea of what to watch. That was when it hit me--the wonderful idea of simply coming here to read your thoughts/opinions. You never fail to make me laugh out loud with the way you word everything. It's so amusing. (In a good way. I realize that can be taken as an insult, but I assure you, I mean it in the most respectful and good-natured of ways.) It's like hitting two birds with one stone! I get all my info and a source of entertainment.

I honestly cannot believe that you'll be watching all 46 of these anime. I wish you the best of luck and that you will hopefully come out of this season not as disappointed as you were with the last season. Take care!

BTW: I can tell you that your hunch for Coppelion was correct, at least from my point of view...
