Damias' Best Anime of the Year 2012
What makes an anime the best in my standard; aside a fantastic OST, it must have captivating animation, superb writing, entertaining, and more importantly, loveable characters. I must note that some of the anime must be completed to get into my list, which is unfortunate because there are a couple of on-going anime that would deserves to be in the rankings. At least it'll be mentioned as mentionees...
~Shin Sekai Yori
~Ano Natsu de Matteru
~Sword Art Online
Now we got that out of the way, let's get on to it, these are my Top 9 Best Anime of the Year 2012. You may be wondering why 9 of all numbers. Well, go watch one of George Carlin's videos about the ten commandments, then you'll see why. Getting off topic, ranking the anime I liked from top to bottom. Bottom being of course the best, for suspense and the top, not being the best but still best enough to be in the rankings, if that made any sense...
Haiyore! Nyaruko-san : Nyaruko is my reason for liking this anime. Her and the comedy. It's really fun to watch this. Aside bland stories, a character that has a tsundere personality and doesn't accept love from Nyaruko. It has to be ranked a bit lower than what I hoped it to be. I mean c'mon, who wouldn't want Nyaruko's love? I know I would embrace her... The animation is great as well and there is to be a second season of this. Jump of joy.
Joshiraku :Watching this is similarly to Danshi, except it features a group of professional Rakugo comedians. And more play on words than Danshi's situational humor. Animation is quite good and the OST is so good, I even have their ED as both my forum's sig and ringtone for my cell... Its good comedy... ^_^
Sakamichi no Apollon : This was underrated. I never expected this anime to be so deep, inspiring and emotional. From story progression and character development, both were really engaging. Not to mention the motif of this anime was jazz, their music is so meaningful and enjoyable. The animation is terrific as well. Quite the hidden gem.
Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita (Humanity has Declined) : I enjoyed his anime mainly on the fairies. They're devious, hilarious and most of all, so kawaii. You have a cast of characters that are enjoyable, the artstyle was fantastic, the premise is unique and the humor is just superb.
Hyou-ka: You Can't Escape : Great story, pacing, artstyle, and more importantly, unique charatcers that you'll grow attach to. At first, I thought it would be irritating watching a cetain character but overall, it grew on me. I appriciated how top-notched this anime was as a whole.
Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! : Where to begin, this was a complete surprise when they included a plot that was honestly well made. Add the fact of interesting characters, some great animation and humor being obviously good, this is one of those unique watch you won't be disappointed.
Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou (Daily Lives of High School Boys) : The greatest comedy anime of 2012, no of all time. Never had I watched something so well written and the outcome would be witty, charming and more importantly hilarious. It has a wonderful cast of characters that are uniquely amusing and the animation is great. Worthy of being Top 3.
Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun : To reiterate... I love everything about this anime. The story, the development, the OST, the animation, and especially the characters.
Acchi Kocchi : My favorite anime of 2012, well this and the top 3 on this list. What I especially love about this anime, if many haven't realised is Tsumiki. My waifu, my beloved till the end of time. How can anyone not like her. She's so adorable, design and personality. Now aside Tsumiki, you have a wonderful cast of hilarious characters. The animation is top notch, the humor is excellent and hilarious and the OST, OMG, it's so AMAZING! Deserving to be the best anime of 2012.
Well, there you have it, the Best Anime of the Year 2012. Honestly, the top 3 could have easily been ranked numer one overall. They're all the best from their respective season. Now that I'm finally done with my list, I can begin the anime of 2013 that I've been stalling till now. I had fun making these list and I can relax and take my time with those reviews I've been looking forward to. Stay tune for more content.
Happy (Late) 2013 everyone.
