Hey there, my name is Dagon123, and I love anime ^_^

I've been a fan of Anime (and Japanese Culture in general) for a very long time, before I even knew what it was, to the Otaku I am today

From the early stuff like Voltron and Gatchaman, to, of course the now Legendary Toonami block that ran on Cartoon Network, I found my favorite Anime of all time in both Tenchi Muyo and Outlaw Star

I'm a very Nostalgic person, theres a good chance that if I saw it when I was younger, Its got a 5 in my ratings, it may not have really been all that good, but when I first saw it, I was mesmorized, and thats what counts

The only wisdom I can give is that, if you're an anime fan, you should always have an open mind, plants don't grow in the dark away from the sun, people don't grow and learn if they shut themselves to new ideas, The less you judge, the happier you will be ^_^ I'm weening myself of all Cynisism, because when you get right down to it, its "Intillectual Cowardice" Instead of taking the time to understand it, you stand on a superior pedestal and look down with false connotations, If you have "Blatant worst of" lists or "Idc its overrated I don't wanna understand it" lists, thats you, and something I'm not fond of ^_-

A fan of Tenchi Muyo? or the new War on Geminar? check out

Here's a quick little guide to how I rate Anime (Should you feel the need to Compare/ Agree/Debate/Bash) my ratings ^_^

,I will always rate a show, no matter what, so if a show has 0 stars, it means I haven't finished and or decided on a final rating

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bad - .5 to 2.5 stars

These shows just have nothing going for them for me, the lowest of the low, I will never recommend the shows I rate this low, I just do not like these at all, or on a rare case, I somewhat liked them, but they had something about them that was so bad I just couldn't bear to rate it any higher

Neutral/Good - 3 to 4 stars

This rating has a wide variety of genres in it, while I am an optimist at heart and try to find the good in all things, I will rate them as true to my feeling as possible, the Neutral ratings are generally good shows, but not good enough that I would buy them or praise them, I finished them, and they were decent enough to say they were ok,

Great/Amazing - 4.5 to 5 stars

These shows are the cream to my crop, my favorite shows that I've watched, now I do have more 5 ratings then anything else, however, if a show is just fantastic, and i have nothing against it or nothing that I thought was "Ehhh" I will give it a 5, very rarely do I give 4.5's, mainly because, rarely do I find that tiny little thing thats not even all that significant but still enough to drop it half a star, of course if you want to see my "Top Anime" Just check the list below

Yea I haven't been able to get on either 0_0, wonder whats wrong, also, I found a wallpaper from wallbase of an anime character that looked wicked cool, turns out it was a character from Blue Sub No.6!, Definetly want to check that out now, and yea I saw thw Gurren Lagann Movie!, I wonder though, because they haven't been a hundred percent concrete about it, and haven't announced it in 2 parts, only "Gurren Lagann: The Movie" if it will be the 2 Hen's dubbed or a brand new movie.

Oh wow all of rapidboards down? FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU xD! Yeah man, Blue Sub No.6 is really good, but I only had two complaints with it, one being that it felt WAY too short for the potential epic of the story (only four episodes, all about forty minutes) and two being that since it was a Gonzo release they naturally put in hella 3D, and this was from back in 1998 so it's not blended too well, the cel shading's phenomenal but the 3D kind of detracted, they should have gone fully cel shaded, it was really well done cells! The character didn't happen to have a face kind of like a shark did he? I think you'd really like it, the characters are all nice and the fish girl is nice (she only says a few words though, I was hoping she'd talk more since she was a nice character). Also, stoked, Higurashi just got here, not going to watch it until I finish Full Metal Panic but this just provides another reason rightstuff is the sheezym it's not even going to be released for another two weeks!

Not sure about the movie either, my guess is they might just take both movies and lump them together into one, because editing them would just screw up the pacing and plot development too much. If that's the route they go then we'll just be getting a two-fer which is probably a better outcome for us than two separate releases ;)! Dang man, I've got Gurren Lagann fever right now, I want them to release the second round of Parallel Works already! A spin-off series wouldn't be bad either, I want to see the gang get back in action, I need more Yoko, Simon, and Kamina bad-assery!

Sorry, after looking at my blog post, I realized I should clarify what I meant by otaku are going downhill.

It's not that our numbers are decreasing; those are skyrocketing with the increase of anime and manga being exported to outside Japan. It's the quality of otaku. Back in the early 1980's to the late 1990's, Japanese otaku used anime and manga and points of inspiration to create and improve themselves, to learn things they might not have known before. That's why that time period had such psychological anime like Serial Experiments Lain and Evangelion. It was a time when doujinshi meant not only fan-products of popular series but casts of completely original characters in the pre-made worlds, or even completely new stories.

Nowadays, Japanese otaku are mostly just sponges, soaking up anime and merchandise, less of learners and more of a way for franchises to milk money. Now, this is not all otaku, but it covers a good amount of them. They're thinking less about the worlds within the series they love, and more about when the next limited-edition figurines or yaoi-doujinshi of their favourite characters are coming out.

Okay, that's an overstatement, but hopefully it gets across what I was trying to say.

That's wonderful man! You'll have to tell me how both of them are, I'm interested in seeing what you think of them! They both look really interesting but I've not heard too much about them except what you've told me. They'll probably both be really good =)!This Geneon sale on rightstuf is so tank =D!
