Here's a secret, I'm a crybaby. I'm fourteen, afterall, so there are alot of things in this world that have the power to make me burst into a fit of tears, anyday. But, one of those things, is not anime. Some of the saddest scenes in anime I have watched, I felt emotion for the characters, but rarely did I cry. Funny, because unemotional scenes have done so, however. Though, it may depend on when I watched them. I watched Fruits Basket when I was a grade school student, and adored shoujou anime, so yes, the ending made me cry, as did the ending to Ouran High School Host Club. So, what are the other series that have driven me to tears? No specific order.
Warning, spoilers for Angel Beats! follow this sentence.
While the ending didn't manage to make me cry, I'll tell you what did. Episode ten. Yui is my most cherished Angel Beats character, and she had been since her appearance. These were tears of saddness and happiness, in truth. Hinata's words caught me off guard, and the moment Ichiban no Takaramono began playing, I began crying. Alas, poor Yui... You will be missed.
Spoilers for Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai below
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni? This series did indeed make me cry. It may come as a surprise, seeing as the characters are never truly gone for good, but maybe that's the gift to Higurashi. The characters don't have to gone for good to leave you with a bitter feeling. And there were more than a couple scenes during the second season that made me cry, yes. Namely, the scene in episode thirteen. You know, when our pals were so close to defeating fate, but were murdered at the hands of Takano? Well, this scene was epic, with action and all, but as much excitement as it contained, it sure did hold alot of emotion to go with it. Specifically the deaths of Keiichi and Mion. Mion followed him even in death, huh? Am I the only one who finds that sweet?
Oh, and another scene in a later episode, famous for revealing the truth behind Satoshi Houjou's disappearance. I'm not sure if I cried because I was happy to know he was alive, or because I was sad that he had went into a coma. Either way, this scene was a very touching and heart wrenching one.
Oh, and...that's actually all. Note that I haven't watched much anime as of yet. So, I will possibly make a new version of this blog in the distant future!
