That's good. Oh, I know what you mean >.< Been really cold over here too (right after we had a few 50 degree days), and yes, it's weird how that happens, isn't it?
Hopefully it gets warmer where you are soon! :)
I've always loved the art in the Atelier series, be it the colorful chibi sprites in the PS2 games or the beautiful designs in the PS3 games. The setting in Escha interests me as well, though that's because I want to know more about the world that the characters from Ayesha live in (plus apparently there's airships, something Atelier has never included before since it's been more about fantasy, less sci-fi). However, EVERY Atelier game is about a person/a small group rediscovering the lost art of alchemy and attempting to cultivate it once again, if that's part of what you found interesting.
Haha, I was ready to claim it whenever the season was coming up (just didn't realize it was spring, not summer!).
I have not. I'm aware of the games and have watched gameplay videos of the first one (REALLY didn't interest me), but I've also been sort of paying attention to information about the new third game. I'm not typically a fan of violent games, so I probably won't buy it. Why do you ask?
Since you called me "super awesome," I shall answer any questions you have!
Nope, you don't need to play any of the other Atelier games to get into the franchise. While Atelier Escha and Logy is the second in the Dusk series, you needn't play Atelier Ayesha - the first in the Dusk series - to understand since Escha and Logy have a new cast of characters. It's a better experience overall to play in order (Ayesha first, then Escha and Logy), but you'll have just as much fun as you would without having played it. All that you'll be missing out on is how the alchemy system has evolved from the prequel and knowing more about the characters from Ayesha who will appear in Escha and Logy as a few years older (though, if it's anything like previous series, they won't be as plot central as the new characters in Escha, so it won't matter much anyways).
BTW, what about Escha and Logy is "calling" you? To be honest, I have higher expectations for this game than the others, but that's only because it's bringing back the "two protagonists" thing and battle elements from the PS2 games.
Hey there! So sorry for my late response, been quite the week Dx
