Kyo Kara Maoh!

Dec 27, 2010

I've written this out two times already because of internet explorer not responding... Oh well. I'll try it one more time. Story - 6/10 So basically, this anime is about a boy called Yuuri Shibuya, and upon trying to rescue his friend from being bullied, he gets his head shoved into a toilet, and "flushed down it". After the flushing, he arrives in another world, in a country called Shin Makoku, there, the people proclaim him as the Maou, the "Demon King" of the Mazoku, apparently because the king is supposed to have black hair and black eyes which inevitably, the main character... Sailor Moon

Jul 20, 2011

Story - 6/10 There are two things that make me want to puke when watching shoujo anime, this is how awkward moments are in it. I don't know about you, but I personally grab the hood of my dressing gown, shove it over my head, put earplugs in my ears and sit there calmly until the awkward moment is over; I'm happy to say that Sailor Moon does not have many of these moments in it. The other, however, it has plenty of. Let's give a cheer for cliché anime! It makes me want to cry whenever something so cliché such as the stereo-typical Tuxedo Mask jumps into the save the day with his red... See full review

Bleach

Feb 11, 2011

Story - 7/10 Okay, before you Bleach lovers all hate me forever, I have to say, I love Bleach! It was my first anime that I watched apart from Pokemon, and it got me interested in other anime as well, however, when you really look at its plot, does this really deserve 10/10? To be honest, I think I'm being too nice giving this a 7! Bleach is, as everyone should already know, one of the 3 mainstream anime at the moment, along with Naruto and One Piece, but to be honest, I think everyone only likes it because of the hype around it; I like it, but one of the reasons why I love it so much is that all of my... Hetalia: Axis Powers

Nov 28, 2010

I may be slightly biased as I'm pretty much in love with the subject History, but I absolutely adored this series. I stumbled across this anime a few months ago, and thinking it sounded a little... strange... I passed. But I did recommend it to my friend, who is as much as a history freak as I am, (probably more so). However, after attending TokyoPop Recon, where it was recommended, and there was even someone cosplaying as Italy (!), I decided to give it a go, and became instantly hooked. The story, I think is a very original one. I mean, who could have thought of an idea of countries... See full review

Ouran High School Host Club

Aug 13, 2011

Story - 7/10 The truth is it’s hard to assess a series such as Ouran HSHC without looking out how many people love it and adore it to this day, even though it’s more than five years since it was released. Surely with a series like this you expect deep storylines that keep you on the edge, keep you guessing as to what will happen next? Well no. But Ouran High School Host Club never aims to do that. The story is focused on a school club, that’s right, you guessed it – the Ouran Host Club, a group of rich, handsome boys with too much time on their hands, who also entertain... See full review

Soul Eater

Feb 11, 2011

Ah... Soul Eater! You've got to love it! Story - 7/10 The storyline... what can I say? It is just like every other shounen anime, set in a world where children/teenagers fight demon like creatures, however, there's something about Soul Eater which I find so refreshing and original that you can't help but be drawn into it. It, as the description might have already told you, is set in a world, where students are trained to become weapon meisters, and the weapons, who also happen to be students there, are trained to become the ultimate Death Scythe, yada yada yada. It's the same in almost every anime and... See full review

Kimi ni Todoke - From Me To You

Feb 9, 2011

I started Kimi ni Todoke after a recommendation from my friend, since I’m not usually that keen on romance anime, I wasn’t exactly in a rush to watch this. But am I glad that I did! Story - 8/10 Kimi ni Todoke is to put it simply, a brilliant anime; it blends the first school love, with comedy and drama and succeeds without making it awfully cheesy like most of the anime out there at the moment. The storyline, although it can be awfully cliché at times, it succeeds in monopolizing a great, original concept which remain entertaining for the full 25 episodes, without ever getting boring...
