I was looking through your 'want to watch' list, and wow, there's a handful of 'must sees', which I wasn't expecting. More or less the whole list is definitely worth watching, at the very least, save a few.
Ye I'd have to agree with you there...there's a lot you can do with action-based series' on screen...I suppose the word action gives that away lol but sometimes shoujo can end up a bit fluffy on-screen...I think perhaps the colours and voices that are commonly chosen for that sort of series bring to life the real girlyness (for want of a better word) whereas you can easily substitute those in your head with manga and focus on the story a little more...plus I think manga artists tend to be a little more serious about their creations and the details...whereas anime's targeted for a demographic and giving them what they expect
I'm trying to look through your anime list....there is so much =o *Is in ultimate state of awe* your top 5 is a little easier to digest though...and I definately agree with deathnote for both manga and anime and the fruits basket manga...I loved how different the overall tone of fruits basket was between the anime and the manga...despite the fact that the anime is so similar to the first half of the manga =)

You need to reserve some time. Enough of these shiny new series. They can wait, because the likes of Monster and GITS SAC have waited longer. :P
