DURARARA !!!   SPOILERS!!!! For any who havent watched it yet

Mikado does find out at the end that Anri is the slasher. It was near when they went to go and rescue Masaomi. Anri still had her red slasher eyes "on" and Mikado saw them :P

Of course this needs a second season. The whole Celty's head thing still hasn't been cleared up with Izaya, and what about Seji's sister? She still looks like she is going to do something, i doubt that she will leave things as they are.

Anyways i really enjoyed this series. I loved the way everything came together so nicely in the end  but still had a faint feeling of being a cliffhanger. There were also crossovers from other animes. I dont know if you noticed since you haven't watched as many but there was an "advertisment" from the anime "Darker Than Black" and (another must watch) and crossover characters from "Baccano" (an anime also made by the same studio so it is understandable). There were also many others i do not remeber right now but remeber being in the anime. One thing that i did not like was the final episode. If you watched this series online then that final episode was actually a DVD special and it was horrible. They made it so unorganised and completely useless

Who was your favorite character?

No actually i started Durarara! almost the same time you did. Sorry but i just got so hooked that i ended up watching the first 10 episodes the first day. After that i tried to control myself to 5 episodes per day :PI finished it almost 3-4 days ago.

The one thing i loved about Durarara was that there were multiple "main" storylines, that all tied together to form a massive story that had me tingling all over. My favorite character has to be Shizuo. I love his temper tantrums.

Yeah i will try not to put spoilers into my comments but there is no need to worry about that since there is just so much to talk about anyways. Send me another message when you get to about episode 16 or so, so we can chat about whatever has currently happened

Thats good. Yeah one episode a day isn't a problem at all. How about we watch one today? We can discuss the anime via profile comments or we could use the Durarara thread back on the forums (every 5 episodes or so will be enough for a few topics). I personally think it would be better to use profile comments because there are only two of us. Its up to you

Hi, I just enrolled as your buddy to watch the anime Durarara (from the forums). I have been told your request has been up there for quite some time, so i wanted to know if you have already finished the series or not. If you haven't then when do you think we should begin? Any amount of episodes per day?

Thanks for your comment on $100 is Too Cheap!

The whole manga IS one conversation, but the storyboards play out many of the ideas and scenarios discussed, so there's plenty to look at.

As for "first manga", it really depends on what you want out of manga. $100 is Too Cheap is certainly a good one-shot if you're not sure whether you like reading comics at all, but it is a different experience from reading longer workds. I'd start with genres you like in anime, but steer away from anything that's ongoing. If you like shounen, look at something like Psyren. If you want something a little more mature and action-packed, think Biomega or Change 123.

For shoujo, you need to be more careful because they tend to get long really quickly, but I'm partial to Gokinjo Monogatari.

All of the Horror manga I've reviewed was recommended by sothis (site owner) and is top-notch, but Metro Survive is probably the best place to enter the genre.

Last but not least: Nausicaa might be the best thing I've read, although I've been told 20th Century Boys is as good if not better, and I have a HUGE thing for Masamune Shirow (I'd start with Dominion).

That's probably enough to get you started, but don't forget the ani-rec engine. Read a few chapters of something and if you like it, use the site to find things people think compare favorably. Hope that helps some.
