I ranked the old berserk far higher than the new one because it's painfully obvious that it's better. The old beserk is far better directed and when it is animated, it offers better animation. Don't confuse the short spurts of animation for good animation though. Most scenes are well drawn stills with the camera panning across. In the action scenes, it's tyipcally a sword being swung at someone without you ever seeing them hit baddy X, then it flashes to the still drawing with blood spurting out. Berserk one as a whole is an exception defecit in the animation depart. Good animation looks Hellsing Ultimate. Beserk one and two are both shit when it comes to animation but I'm sorry to say that Beserk (2016) is MUCH more animated than the old school one.
The old berserk suffered from a low budget and no where is that more obvious than in its animation. The volume of animation that the new beserk offers makes it a far better in the animation department. If you managed to make it far enough down in my review, you would of noticed me calling for more still shots in the new one. This is due to the fact that this anime is directed poorly. They could easily make due CG and still make a great anime, they just need to focus on the message.
That is true, but your whole review shouldn't be about one thing. If you don't like the rest of the show that is ok, but now that new episodes are out you should update your review.
