Story-

Overall the story was very unique and creative. It was very entertaining; I was laughing, I was near tears. The way it was presented though- with all the random flashbacks- was kind of confusing.

Animation- 

The animation was great. The animation in a lot of anime is usually pretty bad when it comes to blood. But Elfen Lied was very realistic.

The character animation was very impressive. Lucy/Nyu was probably the most impressive, there was a lot of detail put into all the characters, but Lucy was the best.

Characters- 

This is what kind of ruins the show for me. Yuka is such a shallow character, but to me, has no personality. Kouta was similar, but not as annoying. Lucy/Nyu was the most interesting out of the bunch, along with Mariko and Nana. The pain and loneliness was quite present.

Overall-

I wasn't very impressed by this anime. Although the storyline was very interesting and unique, the way it was presented was confusing and sort of boring at times. The Diclonii were the most interesting characters and the only ones that had any depth. Good animation, but that doesn't make up for the rest of the suckiness.
