If you think that then you're a fool and deluding yourself to your own prevaricated idealism to defend any criticism levelled against him with a recycled response, regardless of the validity of that criticism. Your expectation that I respond to you in an unintelligent manner is indicative of your ignorance and reluctance to throw away your bias to understand my concern with his reviews.
I'll state it again that the biggest problem I have with Roricon is his ability to fabricate nonsense about a show through his misunderstanding or he's decided that he's going to dislike the show before he's even started it. To be perfectly honest, some of his reviews read like he hasn't even watched the majority of a show and has judged it based on one episode.
That Sakurasou was awful is your opinion. One that is not shared by the majority of people and one I highly disagree with (that it is ranked in the top 160 anime on the site, with a >4/5 mean rating, and a wealth of highly positive reviews gives me reason to believe the general consensus is that people agree with my opinion over yours).
If you have motive to dislike something then back it up with reasons, instead of throwing insults to try and belittle another's position. It just makes your arguement petty and inconsequential, but it does do a good job of proving who really deserves the label of stupid, so congratulations.
Also, in regards to you white knighting your defense of roriconfan, what you are right now is a roriconfan fanboy. You literally are obsessed with that man and his supposed "critical" "review" of anime that is supposed to be acceptable. Well, all I see is that he feels free to insult anime on the stream of being too mainstream, or that, as Panta has said multiple times, don't fit within his extremely close minded views or opinions. He bashes Attack on Titan for basically being too mainstream, slams Sakurasou for being too ecchi and not having any character development, and he continues on in the most typical of petty and horrible reasons. And also, in his reviews, he doesn't mention names and it's like he doesn't even watch the anime.
So please, answer me that.
I will not take back what I said, and it might be childish, but so are all insults, degoratory statements, etc. I never made the claim that I was superior: I am just acknowledging the fact that roriconfan is clearly at a low level of intelligence since how he conducts himself is just wrong and rude.
I mean, read his Sakurasou review and then find the lines where he says OH LOOK ANOTHEREXCUSE TO BASH THE ANIME INDUSTRY. This guy writes stuff just to make people look bad and enrage them. I have to say he's succeeding so well he should be paid for it, but that would only legitimize him.
And in another line within that review, he encourages to take sexual advantage of and abuse mentally challenged people just because they have problems.
Cause, oh yes, I'm the childish one. How cute.
There's valid reasons to dislike Roricon and his opinions. I've described them in his review of Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo - an anime that he grossly misrepresents with his review by providing personal fallacies. Quite often he brings his own personal bigotry into the judgment of a show.
Of the reviews I've read of his, he "faults" he points out are fabricated because they never happened in the anime, or he egregiously misinterprets or is just completely oblivious to what you call "love of character development." He fully expected Sakurasou to be a hentai and was disappointed that the main character didn't fuck everything that moved. That was his whole criticism of the show, and it stemmed out from that premise to criticize the main character as a bland loser when he's anything but that.
It's not my personal opinion that I'm pitting against him; like or hate Sorata Kanda but Roricon completely dismissed the wealth of development, struggle, and success this character went through, all because he didn't shag a girl in the first episode. It's simple observation, and if you're not going to appreciate an anime for its qualities and just expect something absurd out of it then I have every right to be antagonist to his opinion.
Also, you know nothing about my personal proclivities regarding anime. If you ventured into the forums you could see quite clearly that I'm capable of tearing down anime and critiquing shows that even I love. I'm a writer by trade, I recognize and appreciate consistent and beautiful writing, whereas Roricon seems determined to pull the majority of the shows he watches down. His opinion is not law, people have a right to disagree with him in totality and it doesn't instantly relegate them to fanboys because they're able to articulate their concerns, as I have.
In fact, the manner in which you're defending him, without thought for the perspective of others, by which elevates him to a state of perfection to ignore the flaws of an individual, is closer to fanboyism than my general critique of his conduct and opinions.
I do like Sakurasou and Bakuman - two of the anime I've commented on - but that's my personal opinion and I feel that Rori completely misunderstood or just overlooked what was happening in those shows. He brought his own polarized lenses to watch them through and when they didn't line up with his expectations he vocalized that absurdity. I recommend that you watch those shows and write your own review, then I'll tell you where I agree or disagree. Or you can wait for my review, your choice.
It's unfortunate that PinkyIvan fed you inaccurate information, and thanks for coming to me with your concerns.
Roriconfan was not 'banned' - he is welcome (and does) continue to do things like update his anime list or add reviews. He simply is not allowed to make comments anymore. The reason was clearly posted on his profile, (which you can see here: http://www.anime-planet.com/users/roriconfan?page=5#comments), and also in a public site announcement that's more generic and explains our stance on harassment: http://www.anime-planet.com/forum/site-announcements/165399-anime-planets-stance-harassment.html
Someone writing 1 review people like, or 10, or 100, or 1,000, doesn't give them cause to be abusive to other site members, and that's not the kind of community Anime-Planet is. I gave him several direct warnings and chances over a period of months and he continued as usual. That's the point where I removed his ability to comment.
What PinkyIvan is telling you about him being banned because 'the mods hate him and love SAO' is fiction and is irrelevant - the one person with control to remove his commenting ability is me, I could care less what other people like anime-wise and certainly would not be as petty as to ban someone or keep them banned for that.
Hopefully this helps explain the situation, let me know if you have other questions or concerns.
