haha ! Sorry! I planned to reply to you at the weekend but then the new Pokemon game came out so I haven't been on the computer at all.... :D

And yes! That greeting would be awesome!

And may I ask... why didn't you like Code Geass? I thought it was really good! It's on my list to rewatch after Baccano! And if you didn't like Code Geass, does that mean that you didn't like Death Note...? I did think, that although Death Note started out with an original concept, the storyline started to drag on a bit in the middle and towards the end.

And I don't really go onto forums that much... I don't really want spoilers to ruin an anime for me! That... and running into people that I know I won't particularly get along with! Speaking of which, this is going to sound really random, but when they say "OMFG", I don't really get why they have to add the extra F in... Do they really need to add it in that much? I wish they would learn to spell correctly like with "EVAR". (Just using what you said as an example). Because it is spelt with the SAME NUMBER OF LETTERS. Why can't they just spell it correctly?!

*

Yes, I know that it was out of place and really didn't make sense when you analyse it like that, but I was really worked up about Baccano! And it was one of the few anime that I didn't enjoy at all. I gave it a 3/5 for the music and the animation, and I think that was really generous for my enjoyment level.

So yeah, I had really better go. I've been attempting to do homework for the past hour and have currently written down a table about XY chromosomes. That's all! So bye ! :)

Haha, fair enough.

I havn't seen lucky star or raphwhatever cus I heard it is exactly like Evangellion, and I;ve already seen that. Lucky Star cus I havn't got around to it, it sounds bad if u tried it 5 times xD.

Bleach I dropped as I got older and discovered what better anime is. Not a fan of shounen now that I'm not 15 basically.

Hey I hope it's ok if I add you. I noticed your comment about Soul Eater, I completely agree about that and the other ones u listed.

However, I watched Soul Eater before Funimation decided to dub it. I generally do not like Shounen anime but something about the sense of a parody I got from Soul Eater made me love it.

woah woah woah there! I'm not saying that Kuroshitsuji is better than Baccano, I'm not saying it as a fact, just in my opinion I believe it to be better and more enjoyable too.

I wasn't dismissing anyone's view on Baccano, I didn't even say anything like that which is why I'm having trouble wondering where you got that from... and it is not in any way elitist to say that I dismiss Baccano as being a good anime or in my words "a real anime" at all; I have the right to say what I believe to be a good anime or not.

And yes, Kuroshitsuji is not the best, it's not even in my favourites, but I still love it for reasons beyond my knowing, perhaps it was just so different from Baccano, that and I do like that style of anime.

I respect everyone's opinions on whatever anime they choose to be their favourites, and in which case, you need to respect my opinions on Baccano and Kuroshitsuji too. I was not saying that everyone should hate Baccano!

Also "vague, non-sensical term as justification". This doesn't make sense since I have not even stated what I count as "real anime"; you have just assumed what I believe to be real anime.

**  <-- I took a break because I fell down the stairs today and my wrist was hurting. That and I had exams....

Anyway, thank you for stating your reasons! That must have taken a long time to write... but thanks! I really was wondering why people love it so much. I think I may watch it again just to see if I like it better. And you watched the dub...? Because I watched the sub, but if you say the dubs good then I may watch it this time around, just to see if its better.

:)

Hello there, supremely belated response regarding Zipang:

Well, define 'original' and it'll take you forever.

Aside from the American film you mentioned there is other anime with a similar premise (although it is basically straight up arch-conservative let's win the war for Japan fare).

A big difference between Zipang and the American film - and what gives Zipang much of its ambivalent power, however ineffectual in places - is that Japan lost... and how Kusaka interprets this in particular I thought was pretty interesting.
