Again, I am led to have new things to try out because of anime. Now it was by stumbling on anime called Starry Sky and learning that it was based on otome game. Being usually bit hungry for some romance, I wanted to play that kind of games and was glad to learn that there was English patch for Starry Sky - In Spring. Delighted, I sought out both game and patch and played it through, Suzuya route*.
Overall, it was a nice experience. I liked dialoque enough (making me either squee or laugh at times) and even if it lacks bit of realism (what kind of school teaches fortune telling?), it had such a heartwarming story that I did not mind. I would be interested to play other Starry Sky -games, especially Autumn, if not for missing english version. And no, I will not start learning great deal of japanese just to play games. That would be just silly.
I did, however, want to try other otome games, and searched the internet for games in english. Among them, I found few demos for Always Remember Me, Spirited Heart, Flower Shop etc. Last find was Magical Diary - Horse Hall, which surprised me with having customizable heroine and such a interesting gameplay. In all likelihood, this game really will end being bought. Now, to save some money and getting a discount for uploading my beloved, cute witches...
Below are my cuties Nada Mellon, Marian Slyde and Zizzy Gargayle. <3
* Suzuya was guy who propably would appeal to me most in real life, and it amused me a bit him being the underdog stealing the girl while other two were fighting. :) Though I did start feel sorry for Yoh... Have to play with his story next time.
