Well, it all started when my cousin sat me down in front of Sailor Moon and held my eyes open until I watched it...Yeah, I'm not kidding. But I'm glad she did. Thanks, Gwen~
From there I was able to find my own way, immersing myself in animes such as Slayers, Fushigi Yugi, and Rurouni Kenshin. My allowance started to go to collecting Love Hina (in spite of the funny looks people gave me, being a nine-year-old girl purchasing graphic novels with women in towels and bikinis on the front), and such kicked off my manga collecting. I was never one to watch on TV (aside from the typical kid animes, ie: Pokemon, Digimon, Monster Rancher, and "Cardcaptors") but rather prefered to blow dollars and dollars upon building up my own collection -- And here I am today, with shelves and shelves of anime and even more shelves and shelves of manga. :)
My collecting is currently on hold. Years have passed and life caught up. I now have silly things such as bills and mortgage and .. food, that require my expenses. But I will continue to build my obsession as soon as I am able, and force my children to watch it all instead of that crappy shibit they show on TV, so that one day they may inherit all that I possess, as well as build their own fantastic entertainment empire. ;D
That makes me sound a little crazy, but hey, aren't we all.
