My name is Apples ^-^

I've been reading comic books and watching anime since I was a kid. My first anime was Speed Racer and from there I grew into a variety of shows ranging from sci fi to action/adventure. I can't say I have a particular type of show I like the best, it really depends on my mood. I'm not a big fan of girly shows regardless of the fact that I am indeed female i just don't find the need for anime to be catered towards a gender.

I love anime for a multitude of reasons. The storylines are particularly important to me and really make or break a show or movie. I think anime is amazing simply because it can talk about any moment in life, any human feeling, describe any thought, describe any future, past, or present and still make it relatible to every person. I believe anime can truly develop a form of empathy in every human being. the visuals are just plain awesome!

I rate somewhat differently than others. The majority of my ratings are based more on how the anime affected me at the time then all the components of a series or movie. There are many times an anime has gorgeous animation, great characters, a wonderful storyline, and all the other pieces that makes it worth five stars from a completely unbiased standpoint but for me that isn't enough. I like my anime to have an emotional punch. The emotion doesn't have to be depressing or deep, even an anime that can make me cry laughing is worth 5 stars and you will be able to see that from my very diverse list. Regardless of its accuracy here is my rating system:

5 Stars: Yes, yes...yes....and oh right....YES! Fantastic anime! These shows are my all time favorites. These shows aren't always the best animation, but they always have amazing storylines and very dynamic characters. These shows also touched my heart in one way or another and will constantly be my bar for ranking all others in its genre and medium.

4.5 Stars: Sooooooo close! These shows are awesome shows that I will watch over and over, but fail to strike me emotionally. These shows almost always have great storylines and characters, but are missing that final piece to make them perfect. The majority of these shows are on someone's favorite list and I will constantly agree on their greatness, but they will never be considered groundbreaking.

4 Stars: These shows are fun but fall flat for one reason or another. Sometimes the story isn't complete or a character is really annoying but the storyline is good or sometimes I'm glad I watched it once but I'm fine if I never get the chance to watch it again. A lot of these shows and movies are animes from my childhood and have a very special place in my heart. I know it sounds like I don't care for them anymore but I do, I'm just aware that while at 7 years-old I might have found powering up for three episodes "bitchin'"  it's not the coolest thing ever done in anime.

3.5 Stars: These shows were enjoyable and passed the time nicely, but they are not anything to write home about. A lot of these were recommendations or animes I found at a used bookstore for really cheap. Not great, not bad.

3 Stars: Uhhh yeah....okay. These shows are not terrible, but definetely not what I would call quality. These animes are usually really cheesey, are not unique, have annoying characters, or just put me off.

2.5 Stars: If these weren't dropped they probably should have been. I just didn't like them for a variety of reasons. Yes there is one series that is a huge hit for most people that is rate 2.5 stars. No it is not a mistake.

2 Stars: You're lucky you didn't get 1 star.

1 Star: Who let you loose upon the world?! Why did I pick you up? Why the hell didn't I drop you?!?!

I just got done watching Special A and Kimi Ni Todoke, which were pretty good.  Now I need to find something else to occupy my time.

Ok, i just hear some people say comic books and mean manga and others of the type.  'The Boys' sounds like an anti-hero, psychological, tight comic book.  Having the main character(s) anti-heroism always makes for a badass story in my book.  Usually,(hopefully) entails a substantial amount of gore with a rock-solid plot.  I think i would appreciate this one.  As for the other cbook, the woman is so, well about naked.  Considering the person i am, this cbook looks like it needs further investigation.  But it revolves around the story and that sounds pretty cool.

I bought a, graphic novel about...well Wizard of Oz.  yes go ahead howl like an apple for all i care LOL.  I could not pass up the art and alteration of this series.  It was so trippy and something profound.  That is about as close to cbooks as i own.  I don't even buy manga and sadly revere myself as a pirate of the online manga world.  Though i would love to buy Berserk manga and OP, anime is about as far as i will go. Though i do read couple books and MAN, i have the greatest book.  I would be sooooooooooo amazing if it would become a graphic novel.  This book needs illustration.

Ohh, what degree you shooting for?

But who doesn't desire nothing but story?  I cannot stand filler/fluff in manga and it gets worse in anime.  But my tastes tend to revolve around seinen and shounen.  Basically, i judge all my picks first on the art then presume to read synopsis.  I can't bear shoujo art for some god known reason.  I have like 2 shoujo manga that i'm reading and the rest are seinen/shounen.  But that is the manly side thus, i will not indulge on a girly side that does..not...exist.  :D

a clam lol.  Didn't know they had any sort of emotions or even anything but a gooey inside.  Yeah i understand, though did you really block out cra*(p)? lol.  Anyways, that is why i judge most of everything by the front cover, which takes care of most of my manga wading.  I mean, i have to tell ya, i have liked about 98% of the manga i have/am read/ing.  Do to such a robust system of filtering, i am as happy as a sunny day.  I still think you would like Eden: It's an Endless World.

Yes music is something very powerfull. For every emotion is a other song. Rock and metal are the of music i listen when i am in a normal mood. When i feel different i often listen to this kind of music;

I went indeed to a few concerts, i have seen the RHCP live, Slayer if it wasnt canceld -.- and also went to a few festivals. I dont know if you know them, but i went to Graspop wich is in Belgium (wich is very awesome) and is almost only metal. But i also went to Sziget wich is the biggest festival in Europe wich is in Budapest and that 1 is really the best. Its on a island and its a week !!! So you take you camping stuff and then its only music and party. And the beuty of it is that its all kind of music from all over Europe with nice people from all over Europe. Its really the best festival ive been to.

I am already looking forward to your AMV i just love those things ;p

And yes Clannad is an anime you really should try, its beautiful in all kind of ways. But now i am not really watching that kind of shows, lot of shounen (One Piece), but the one's that are special are Kino's Journey and Bakuman. Those are strong animes

I like to hear that you also like rock, metal (wich bands if i may ask ??). Unfortunally i cant make AMV's i am not good with that kind a stuff :( but if you make any i love to see them.

I also read in your Bio that you like anime with a good story, and i see that you havent see Clannad. Its (in my opinion) a masterpiece that made me think about life and how hard yet beutifull its is. So if it is your kind of anime i can really recomment Clannad and Clannad after Story
