Noooo! It's over!
Saiunkoku Monogatari is quite possibly my favorite anime. Yes, I'm probably forgetting how I felt at the end of some other anime I enjoyed, but right now, I think Saiunkoku Monogatari is my favorite, for all the reasons mentioned in previous posts.
There was one thing I disliked about the second series of Saiunkoku Monogatari: it had three filler episodes. These episodes contained very little new footage. Instead, they consisted mostly of flashbacks, using bits from past episodes. The first time, I thought, "oh well. I can survive one filler after more than 40 wonderful episodes." The next time, I remained understanding: "Two fillers. Well, they probably had budget cuts or something. At least the series isn't deteriorating like His and Her Circumstances did when it ran out of money." But, by the third time, I became a tinse irretated.
Despite those three fillers, I gave the series five stars. How couldn't I? Both series of Saiunkoku Monogatari are beautiful, inspiring works of art.
Now, perhaps I should take a brief break from anime and get a life... maybe.
